Has anyone any experience / views to offer on these possible engine swaps ?

Reason I'm asking is that I have been offered a 2004 4x4 with dead engine and have access to either of the above in my favoured breakers yard. Don't particularly fancy using another slothful 60hp 1.2 in it which would be the simplest option.

1.4 8v should bolt straight onto existing gearbox - just need suitable ECU setup etc.

Both will bolt onto the gearbox. As will a 1.2 and 1.4 16v. the problem all comes down to management on any engine conversion.
