So my 100hp black trims are starting to look worse for wear, especially round the mirrors. Dose anyone have any suggestions to a fix that's going to work well.

I was thinking the same thing last time I washed mine but I know from previous experience that once you start with trim restorers they never look the same again.... I have used meguiars tyre gel with good results but its not cheap and needs doing often.

Yeh it's a pain in the bum.. I do want to fix but I know that it will never be the same once u start.

The trouble is that you have to use it after every wash and then it streaks when it rains and just looks crap, to be honest when I used to run mk3 Golf's I used to buy new plastic trim every couple of years just to keep it looking good although I've got a feeling that 100hp trim might be a bit harder to come by than VW stuff.

There are videos of people on YouTube successfully using hot air gun to restore black trim, and I've also heard peanut butter works. Not tried either myself. I use Autoglym Vinyl and rubber care, but that also needs doing regularly and streaks after rain. :-/

Autoglym only steaks In my experience if you don't rub it in properly, use to much and don't give it a good buff.

Every time, I've tried all but this is king!
Lucky if I have to do my black bits every 6months . .

Car plan black trim wax is brilliant stuff, lasted me 3 months through winter, also it's solvent based so actually removes some of the trapped wax that causes the white stains.Only a fiver from halfords.

Little bit of how it should look.
Ps: only posting so much cos I'm bored and being forced to watch euro vision.

So what's the best to get haha. I'm gona spend a day doing this in a couple weeks.. cars mot soon too ? always a tense time.

Like Lauderboy, I use the Same Gel treatment.
I use an old tooth brush to scrub it in. Lasts about 4 to 6 weeks
Looks good, it also works well on the grey of Mrs W's Civic.

I thought this so was considering finding out it would be to paint all the black trim. Either gloss black or colour code to the car but it all depends on price
