I recently bought a 2007 100HP with 49.000 KM on the clock (ca. 30.5K miles). Happy me (y)

Well, just had the big service done (this hadn't be done) and it turns out the exhaust from the flex pipe and all the way back needs to be replaced, due to wear. This gives me the forced opportunity to put a more sportier exhaust on :slayer:

I've already decided (I think) on the 80mm Inoxcar stainless steel back box, as this seems like the perfect size. But I'm having trouble deciding on the flex and center silencer. I don't want a straight pipe (I do actually, but Danish law forbids me from wanting it!), so I'm wandering between a standard center silencer (IMASAF - the cheap option) or a Ragazzon or CSC (More expensive option). Will my choice of center silencer make a noticeable difference sound wise? and if I go for the Ragazzon/CSC option, will it bolt directly on to the front part of the exhaust system without any modifications? And most important, does anybody know/have experience with other road legal center silencers w. flex pipe that can replace the standard one?

Thanks in advance (y)

Basically the standard centre pipe with a Ragazzon/Inox etc rear box will be quite loud and the same with a straight through 'group n' centre pipe will be very loud, there are quite a few video clips on YouTube showing various combinations.
The straight through pipe and standard rear box works for me as you get a slightly fruiter exhaust note and the longer lasting mid pipe but its not stupidly loud.

Thanks! Sounds a bit like a should go for an OEM center silencer and Inox back box then. But I'm still having a hard time figuring out how much louder a silenced Ragazzon/CSC center silencer would be compared to an OEM center silencer.

Does anyone else have experience with stainless silenced center exhaust parts? Is it (much) louder than an OEM middle exhaust? Or how much does the center muffler change the sound compared to a straight through pipe?

The straight through does sound good, but it wouldn't be street legal. So I pretty much has to choose either stainless with silencer or a original center. I was hoping that someone had gone with the stainless center silencer and could she some lights on it soundwise.

If there isn't any change in tone/depth I can see why. But is 195€ expensive for a stainless center? A mild steel one is around 100€.

I found that the standard centre pipe and ragazzon back box made little to no difference to sound levels

Thanks guys! A bit curious: what is the cabin like driving at 3000 RPM with the straight through pipe? I've heard its a bit noisy/ringy?

I'd hazard a guess that the noise levels will increase quite a bit, the 100hp isn't too bad at the 3000rpm 70mph cruise but i'm sure i read someone on here saying that the straight through pipe made motorway cruising pretty uncomfortable.

I do quite a bit of highway driving, so that definitely rules out that option. Just need to find a cheap steel center and get the Inoxcar 80mm backbox then!

Cheers guys!

Do you or did you have to get the flexi pipe when you do this?

You can buy flex pipes on eBay, just choose your pipe size when ordering. Cut the old one out and fit the new flex section wth exhaust clamps. Then use with any absorbent (straight through) box that fits the available space and a new pipe section. The back box will need baffles to remove the torque peak boom that usually happens close to the gear shift point.

This is where the bespoke exhaust guys come into play. It's likely to need minimal bending and fitting so labour costs are not silly.

There must be people doing this in Denmark.

Because im driving a fiat 500 dualogic just wondering whether i could do the same and replace the centre exhaust with a straight pipe and keep the stock rear exhaust since its not really a manual in the true sense of the word
