Should be original then imo. The definition of the word stock doesn't match its use (n)
So neither OEM or Stock? Merely "original" covers neither of the above. Honestly, do the semantics of it really matter, mate? Everyone who cares about cars in the slightest is aware that stock/OEM mean pretty much the same thing. I'm sure there's no official English/US use of "Stock" or "OEM".

Its things like this not being picked up that cause things to get lost in translation though, Like I say its only the last 3-6 months the word 'stock' seems to be being used more and more, and it doesn't flow in the context people are trying to use it in IMO.

OEM is fine as its an acronym, stock isn't an acronym, and the definition of the work is different to how people are using it. It's almost as bad as text speak, but each to their own, I'll let the thread get back on topic now

So is the yellow plug just a signal power feed for the sub?

If so can't the wiring be modified a bit to pick it up though the aux plug that goes in its place?
Yes, the yellow plug feeds power to the optional factory fitted subwoofer.

I'm not an electrician, I have no idea if the wiring can be modified to essentially work with both the aux and sub simultaneously via the same plug. I wondered about it earlier, but decided not to say anything as I had no useful information to add about it.

We'll agree to disagree, I guess it's just one of those things. Anyway, as you say, lets get back on topic.

the other problem is, apparently if you don't have the aux option after pressing CD twice, it won't work anyway lol

at least thats what I've gathered from here anyway

Without the "aux" option available via double pressing "CD" on the stock/OEM/orignal 100HP HU, you can't get a 3.mm input working without a whole new HU, as far as I'm aware. Maybe someone with a greater knowledge of the 100HP's sound system could get it working, but I have no idea if that's the case. Sorry, mate :(.

An right, on our 2009 Eleganza it does have that option (is also MP3 CD, Not sure if that matters much?) and I managed to wire in a 3.5mm jack as an aux from an old pair of headphones using the wiring diagram for the inputs on the top of the headunit. Works well. However we've no sub or Bluetooth (we'll we do, but an aftermarket Parrot unit, not the OEM setup).

reading through this has answered my question into why my sub doesn't work.. because I fitted an aux. has anyone tried splicing the aux from the cables into the original sub cable? I feel this wont work as the signals from the device and to the sub will somehow mix up. for example only playing parts of a song as and when the sub kicks in. also is there a connection for these ipod interfaces ? (looks like I have to buy myself an I pod)

Does the aux use the same pin for a wire in the plug as the sub does in its pin?

so is the thing i bought correct? because are saying yellow plug, others are saying blue so which one! it seems that when they changed the none mp3's and bluetooth to read mp3's and no bluetooth. they changed this as well?

Right :D - this is the way I understand it after mucho trauma.

Blaupunkt, panda, with the yellow and blue - the full size head unit..
There were two main models, one with mp3, one without. On either model, there is an option for cd changer, this is the blue connector !.
On the mp3 model, there is an AUX listed when pressing cd button, to access this, this is the YELLOW connector on that model - one the non mp3 models you will almost certainly have no pins on the radio where the yellow goes. Also, no AUX selectable as source.
So, with an MP3 version, you simply connect to the signal in on the yellow - the pinout is marked on the radio !!! - if it doesnt show signal Land R IN, then it wont work, you can tell usually by cycling the cd button to see if AUX comes up on the display.

As for the cd changer, the blue connector, this CAN be used, but..... it depends on the version as some allowed you to trick the unit into thinking you had a changer by putting a resistor across data in and out (Local loopback), selecting source as changer, and feeding mp3 into the cd changer line in pins.
Mine doesn't have the yellow input pins, it has the changer, but the resistor trick does not work... have ordered a small box of trickery of of amazon that simulates a cd changer so the head unit thinks it has one and will then let you select it as an input source...

Dont forget, the pin connection should be shown on the radio itself.. THEY ARE DIFFERENT from model to model, especially the yellow. ...

thanks dude, i was just looking at these lol because i was thinking, surely if did put a normal radio in AND lost my steering wheel controls i would also loose the sub :/

but i was trying to find an AUX one as i can then use my phone through it for handsfree and other peoples mp3 players. have you seen any 3.5mm ones before?

thanks for the input mate

You can get 30 Pin female to 3.5mm adapters.

I found this one on eBay:

This is just so confusing, but I have gleaned some info and have managed to get my ebay bought IPod connecter to work with my standard Blaupunkt head unit! Taken loads of pictures and will upload them if any one is interested?

Right for Matt here is how I did it. It is a bit guess work here and there but it does work!
So I drive a 08 plate Fiat Panda 100hp, no sub woofer, bluetooth and mp3 head unit. I wanted to run my IPhone through the stereo. I had read a few things and it sounded straight forward, I have done it today and it is working fine, took about 2-3hrs or so.

I am not very technical so I will be referring to the blue and red wires rather then what they actually do. I have a load of pics though so that should help.

First. Here is the cable I got from ebay

It has the big IPhone connector suitable for a 3 and the 4 I think.

2. The back of my stereo and wire diagram layout.

So this is my set up and I know they can be different. So here is what I did. Just to explain I did play with the stereo to see what happened when I disconnected things and which did and didn't work. Basically the blue block seems to be the steering controls and part of the bluetooth and phone connecter, the green has a number of other thing including the phone interrupt that turns off the stereo when dialling and the yellow does sweet f-all!

With all my playing and some reading from this forum I decided to dismantle the cable I had bought. As it was it would not plug and play so was basically useless in this form.
Now there may be a clever way to do this, but I used a dremmel! That took it from this…

To this…

Now if we look here there are 3 spare pins in the stereo, which correspond with the yellow plug.

So I tried this.

So for those not seeing what I have done, I have kept the 3 wires from the adaptor and plugged them in to the 3 spare sockets, maintaining their relative positions.

This worked and the stereo ran the IPhone as an aux input, with a double press of the cd button. So I finally did this.

This looks easy but I took a lot of time doing it because if you get it wrong, you will struggle to get the wires back out of the yellow block so…
PLAN IT CAREFULLY!
The most important is the middle one, green on my cable, the other two are left and right, so if they are swapped and you adjust the balance it is opposite. Mine did play with only the green wire attached, it was much better with all 3!

I had already fed the cable to the floor at this point so it was a case of pushing the stereo back in to place and voila!

The cable does seem to have power wires too, but I decided to quit while i was ahead and look at that another day to see if I can get it to charge as well.

I hope that helps. It genuinely does work, I have not done a drive with it all in place, as I only did it today, but it does play through the stereo. Cant skip tracks though, the control for the music is still done on the phone.

Hope that all helps!

BTW: just to screw me over I got a new IPhone 5c and of course the connector is different! I will be getting an adaptor and if anyone is interested will give some feedback here.

PEACE OUT!
