Decided to go one size smaller, 6.5x16" ET35.

Bought these today.

Hi Pretender!

Was wondering (and I didn't read through the whole thread because I am too excited when I saw this post), where did you buy those wheels? I have been looking around for abarth rims for my Panda also and those ones that you got yourself are, dare I say it, SEXAY! (y)

My wheels are 6.5x16" ET 35 Fiat 500 Lounge wheels, but powder coated mat black. ;)

btw, i bought them on "Marktplaats" A Ebay owned Dutch company in the Netherlands.

Normaly they look like this.

You'll be surprised, but the car probably handles much better on narrower tyres with 15's. Wider tyres will just slow an underpowered car down.

I really like these! A wheel I would consider if I had plans to mod my Panda.

Wheels and tyres make so much difference, between the dynamic I had with 13" wheels to the 14" Alloys on the Eleganza, you wouldn't believe there both Pandas by the handling difference.

I drove it on 155/13" steel, 165/14" steel, 185/14" steel, 195/15" LM and now on 195/16" LM an Every time the drive improved, so i don't see why it would be far quicker with 14" steel wheels.
The weight of a big alloy really blunts a cars acceleration when it has so few horses under the bonnet

Do alloy wheels not weigh less then the equivalent steel wheel?

In the old days they used to - particularly if they were Magnesium alloys. Modern pressed steel wheels tend to be lighter (and stronger) than their glamorously spoked alloy brethren.

I fancied some steelies for my 100hp but couldn't find any reasonably priced (i.e. ultra cheap).
