I've studied the photo's and i can't see a reason why the later ones won't fit as the mountings on the koni's are in the same place as oem shocks??...anyone clarify this?

Are the shop4parts droplinks good quality OEM equivalents or cheap no-name items?

I've had someone fit no-name cheap droplinks in my 205 Gti and they failed within less than 3000 miles.

As far as i'm aware they are 'original birth' OEM parts....still doesn't account for the price difference..:(

Thanks Gavv8.

Using the Koni sports, did you have to do any other modifications and any problems with the bolts being "loose" in the Koni bushes?

No knockings etc.? I want to make sure I have everything I need before I proceed (y)

They were fitted when i bought it but i've had no problems so far.

Right... bit of thread resurrection here but I think its important, as I have koni suspension I have been lead to believe that you can't use the later opposing drop links as they foul the shock tube on full lock.
As i totally refuse to pay almost seventy quid for two drop links just because they come in an 'original birth' box i fitted adjustable drop links from whiteline... these it turns out are either rubbish or the roads i drive on are particularly harsh because my 100hp has killed another drop link (drivers side again)... now..... i can either replace the ends on the adjustable ones or get ripped off for original ones.... so i thought I'd try fitting the ones i have as though they were the newer opposing ones and guess what?.... they don't foul the shock tube even though they are thicker than normal drop links.... it is pretty close on full lock but they don't touch and who drives around on full lock all the time anyway?, so the upshot is that I'm going to put the newer (and much cheaper) drop links on and see how they go.

As recognised expert, how does a knackered drop-link manifest itself? Knocking suspension, diving under heavy breaking?

Curious.

Further update* standard 'opposing' drop links fitted (fit fine) plus new track rod ends... still bloody rattling f/n/s so complete bottom arm ordered...... price you pay for using the car as it was intended I suppose

.. having said that its almost at 70000 miles and still drives like a demon!!.

I've developed a kind of quiet rattle from both sides at the front. I've had if looked at and they can't really see what would be causing it so I wonder if it's my shock top thingies too.

Shop4parts have two different types of drop link available for the Panda, one with both ball joints facing the same way, and one where they point in opposite directions:

Same: http://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=store&op=Details&ProdID=8278&sku=111467

Opposing: http://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=store&op=Details&ProdID=2265&sku=40018

Does anybody know whether the latter will fit the 100hp model or does it need to be the former?

Thanks

Why change drop link's. ??
I have adjustable Koni Sport with 40mm front/30mm rear lowering springs.

The drop link mounts on koni's are on the outer side of the shock tube as opposed to standard which are on the inside so in theory you can't fit the later drop links to koni's as they foul the shock tube on full lock... the solutions are either to be totally ripped off for a pair of the earlier type, use adjustable ones (tried that and they don't last) or just use the later (and much cheaper)ones and accept that they rub on the shock tube a bit on full lock which is no big deal.
