rad weld or barrsleak ooooops sorry not allowed to tell you that caused so much trouble last time i mentioned it but is cheaper than thermal underware
:bang:

warm clothes wont clog up cooling system though, stop leak additives are for dodgy car dealers not your own car you want to keep.

bugger that if mine springs a leak will be first thing i try, sod being cold can always back flush it when sun comes out
each to his own. said would cause s##t if i mentioned it
will go get my cap and stand in corner again ( me and the corner are on first name terms ) :D

the trouble is by the time the warm weather comes the rad weld will have hardened in lots of places you don't want it to and will be to hard to just flush out. ive seen water ways totally blocked by it.

You're looking at him

Well the rip the car apart to change the whole heater box unit, didn't change just the matrix as that wasn't the fault.

So the big question is, can you get the matrix out without removing the heater box unit?

Elearn would suggest you can't, but IIRC someone here at least managed to fix a leaky union (admittedly not the same as a holed matrix) without dismantling everything and the repair held up.

i'll have a half-dozen eggs ready to poke into the RAD if it still leaks ; - }
Charlie
and you all slag me off over barrs leaks, now you trying to bodge it with eggs:bang::bang::bang::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
bung the eggs in first - if it stops the leak has saved you all the hassle , if it dont you only lost a few eggs :devil::devil::devil::devil::devil:
off to stand in the corner before you all tell me off (n):cry::cry::cry::cry:

Update,
got the Matrix out,

panda maint dec 13 049.jpg

it was leaking at the "manifold" joint(n)

see the RED fuzz half-way up the crimped edges:bang:

so presumably it's just AGED sealant ,
rather than a corrosive / abrasive action:idea:
