Any advice on how to remove the gear knob on my 100hp? Got a new gaiter but won't go over the gear knob, so it'll have to come off! I'd like to keep the gear knob but if needs be i can get a new one

Oi thats my video! :D:D:D

And stock knob have to be hacked in the middle if u want to take it off. Pop cap off with flat head then hack saw right down the middle and use flat head to pray cut open so u can yank the gear knob off the rod. (sorry if it all sounds too dirty...)

but u can buy knew gear knob that will be a straight swap, but they a bit pricey. The one on the video I bought on eBay for £5.99 a universal one.

Hope this helps

oh yeah, forgot to say....

if u dont want to hack gear knob. U can still change gaiter without taking knob off. But u ll have to chop stock gaiter thou

once its off line it up on the frame, hook it up and pull it inside out so frame on top and narrow end is inside out facing down.

cut stitch about and inch down so you can feed it through the knob, re stitch it with any old thread ( hopefully same colour ) cable tie it to the notch on the reverse pully and pull the frame back down to clip it back into position.

not hard and shouldn't take long, but u do keep ur stock gear knob (y)
