Are you a pirate? You appear to be saying ur quite a lot.

Cheap dampers means cheap crap

Think you'll find pirates are known for saying "Arrr" not "ur" unless of course it's a zombie pirate, which is a different kettle of monkeys

People who don't understand the value of quality

Riiiiiight......

I think it's most unfair to critisise someone who had pointed out an offer to other owners that might help save money on running their car. He isn't making any one buy them and plenty run them on VWs with no issues. Really don't see the problem.

Great community spirit on these forums presently

Seem to have stumbled onto a lovers tiff :D

I understand the concern about cheap dampers, but they are on sale.

As I have suspension problems now, I need something to get me through the winter, then I might think about putting Koni Yellows on next year when I have the money. Will probably change the springs then too.

I can't agree with the "certain crowd" comment. it's not a prestige car or marque and frankly not everyone's cup of tea. My point was buying a car renowned for it's handling then sticking cheap suspension on it is just silly. If you are going to do that, why not buy that 1.0l sunny instead?

My Panda is my second car, and I stuck the STR.T on BECAUSE they were cheap, but frankly if you can't afford £50 for a damper than why buy the most exclusive of models?

You see my point?

If this wasn't a Panda 100hp thread then fair enough, stick whatever crap you want on, but I ain't gonna stick Nankangs on my Skyline, and I won't stick coilovers on my Panda, but the there is a middle ground which is where I would expect most 100 owners to tread.

Also a valid point but each to their own eh?

Personally not that ass'd as I've got koni sports on my HP.

I also see your point, but I'm only replacing stock dampers anyway, so if they are as good as stock, they'll be fine "for now". Especially at less than €50 for the whole set.

When I have the budget I'll get Koni Yellows and new springs.

I used FK's on several of my old golf gti's and they were ok for the money, they do the job and are surely better than worn out and dangerous old shocks and the only reason mine let go and friends cars that had them fitted was because we had the coilovers wound right down and this will kill them quicker,
I bought a 100HP because it feels most like what golf gti's used to feel like before they got all lardy and slow and although it doesn't feel quite as solid as VW's it didn't cost anywhere near as much to buy in comparison.

Well the FK's are TUV approved and too cheap not to try! I have ordered a set and look forward to trying them.

I''ve posted links to this sale 5 days ago. Strikes set came yesterday! Ordered on Monday - revived on Friday! and for a under £28 for a whole set in my book is a win win! With Koni u pay £500 then wait 2 months. For that kinda money they should be delivered in person. Yes Koni are the better parts but they are 100 times more expensive but I dont think they are 100 times better.

For the price its worth a shot. If the TUV approval that they have confirms the quality. They are also manufacturered in Germany, then the only question regards the damping rate. Considering the 100hp's damping is not great from the factory then its worth a try. Also the FK rear dampers have eliminated the silly voided rear bush design that the standard Fiat rear dampers have, so should last a bit longer than a standard factory replacement.

Given the price, it has to be worth a go. Will be interesting to see how they perform. Let us know. Improving the damping on the 100HP is the most important step, so fingers crossed this option works.

Koni. Having the Sport dampers on the rears, I would suggest that the cheaper SRT.T versions would suit the Panda perfectly. I have the rear Sports wound down to almost their softest setting, which just about matches that of the non-adjustable SRT.Ts (which I have on the front).

Good feedback about the Konis. looking forward to seeing what effect the FK' s have. I work in the chassis department of a car company so will be getting the damper engineers to have a look over the parts when they arrive to see what they think.
