In the fiat panda (2004), the front head restraints are not adjustable, whereas the rear ones are. Is there any way that we can fit adjustable head restraints, or to at least move the drivers one and keep it in a position that it safe for the driver? It's completely not in the right place at all.

Thanks.

It is the active model.

The seat is as correctly adjusted as possible. it just seems odd to have rear head restraint adjusters and not front.

thanks

You have 3 belts in the rear? Was the only way to have rear head restraints on the Active. Only adjustable as they're a slightly higher spec option.

That would explain it. yes there are three belts in the back. very useful having the three but it's still a pain not being able to adjust the front head restraints.

is there anything we can do?

There are quite frequently Mk3 Pandas being broken on eBay -- or you may be lucky to find one in a local scrappy... -- in which case you could salvage the front seats from a better model.... Only problem will be finding matching material, of course... -- in which case, you may want to nab both fronts and backs...!

replacing the seats would be a good idea actually, they're in the blue bubble print cloth which stains so easily!

we're bristol sort of way, and had the panda since march last year.

Ah cool, not our old one then, we used to have a 2004 Active with 3 rear seats, never seen another in the flesh :p

Not a common option on any Panda, let alone an Active.

did you like driving the active? and out of interest what colour was yours?

I find it surprisingly comfortable and nice to drive considering its low spec.

I've not seen many pandas with three seat belts either, I've seen quite a few with no rear head restraints and thought it odd.

I prefer the Active over the others myself, great revvy little 1.1 engine, and prefer the basic spec over the Eleganza we've got.

Then again I like our little poverty spec 750L mk2 Panda's also :D

No: we haven't even got them on our Eleganza.... :(

Neither have we :p

I got 3 seat belts in the rear (makes it a 5 seater model) without asking for it. I got it new, was pleased when he said it came like that, then found that the head restraints weren`t cloth. Apparently, 5 seater models have a basic head restraint!

I think it was an option but is quite expensive - £150 ish?

Have only used it a couple of times in the 2 years since I bought mine ...

Anyone know why they were such a rare feature?

As above, was only an option, £150, which most didn't seem to bother with. To be honest I suspect a lot didn't realise there were ordering a 4 seater until they went to fit a 5th person in it, you'd be surprised how little notice people take when buying a car.

I didn't reckon a third seat would be of much use to me... Kids have to be in car seats these days and there's no way you could fit three in the back, unless the kids were aged over 3.5 and then you might only just be able to fit three Bubble-Bums in the back. Nothing else would fit...

I opted for the sliding rear seat option instead. This came with isofix fixings, adjustable headrests and the front headrest upholstered. The sliding seat is so handy!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I thought it'd be better than creating a new one.

I own the 1.1 Active Panda which has the non-adjustable head restraints in the front.

Can I just clarify... is there no way to remove these, will I really need to replace the whole seat?
