I just dont get why i have to pay so much
I feel cheated in a way
I assume you're talking about insurance prices?

It's because other idiots (namely Vauxhall Corsa driving chavs) ruin it for all the other younger drivers, like me and you. Insurance for young males has dropped significantly since the start of this year when the ECJ ban on gender pricing insurance polices came into force, though it's still hideously expensive compared to what everyone else pays (my mum's insurance is ~£130 this year).

If you don't mind being spied on and treated like a child, you could get a "black-box" insurance policy to save a bit of money. I'd only advise against it if you do a lot of motorway driving like I do, as you'd have to stick to 70 at all times, yay...

Well, Deaf. Dont feel cheated mate.
I'm 32 and we paid £700 last year for 2 drivers on the car. That was before I started modding it. This year, Admiral simply said its £1.500+ after I added major mods ei, Koni, Tarox, BMC and Abarth bits. All other major insurance companies simply refused to insure me after hearing that I have quite a bit more than 9 mods. Ended up going with Ardian Flux as the specialize in aftermarket fiat 500s. Still cost me £1000. But thats with all my mods declared. Had to attach separate A4 sheet to the mods form as it didnt have enough room for all of them :D. So yeah, Dont feel cheated, but dont do mods for a while too :D

Awkward moment when you have one on your Mk2 punto 1.2 and its still 1300:/

Was your 1700 quote on the 100HP with a box too? FWIW, Admiral wanted another ~200 quid from me to say the car was kept in a garage as opposed to on the road. Absolute madness , insurance companies are simply out to rip people off, not that that's news to you I'm sure.

What insurance group is the 1.2 Punto? I think the 100HP is only 4 or 5 (by the old 1-20 grouping) same as a totally unsporty 1.4 Fiesta.

In the new band they're 11 (1 to 50) but the MK2 is group 7 :/ and its 1900 without box but with its 2300 something is obviously not right here.

What !? I'm 19 and was honest and said it spends just under 6 months a year parked on the street in the outskirts of delightful Hull each year and it was £700 too.

I have no idea how insurance companies come up with these crazy prices. Beyond charging all 17 year olds £2000-3000, there seems to be little continuity in their pricing.

Yeah...something odd is definitely going on there. Have you got your mam and dad on your policy. Made a big difference to mine. They still can't drive it without the owners permission, even if they are insured on it.

S.12 Theft Act 1968...if you're interested (guess what I do at Uni haha :p).

Demi - don't you live in London somewhere? The part that's usually on fire? I'm 33, well just turned on the 1st, and I have all mods declared at £200.

Anyway, I got a new lens for my camera for my birthday so have a few new shots..... ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1373396506.007139.jpg ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1373396525.795272.jpg

For those around the Preston area, if you fancy a meet up and a blez about on some country roads one evening, I know some decent ones over the Beacon, and also Myerscough/Hambleton way....

Yeah a run round some roads would be fun!

Yeah I live in London and park my car in the garage of at the back of the house too. But its still crazy expensive as I have only 1 year of no claim bonus. Even thou I ve been driving since I was 18. But always company cars and my last firm would not provide papers of no accidents as the boss is a bit of a w***er.

wow that is some serious quality pics there, what lens is it? Im looking to get better lens for my G5 too, but daaaaaamn they r pricey! was recommended a good one... £850 for a lens think had F/2.8

The previous pics were all iphone5 but the last two are using canon 1000D with a 55-250 mm USM 3 with IS on. Feel they are very glossy and show good details.

I'm going up to the lakes for the day tomorrow so will see if I can get some good ones.

You've got the Panny G5, which means any lens will fit. I have the Panny G2 and GH2. Main lens is the 14-140 (which is dear).

However - I would recommend you get the 20mm F1.7 panny - great for short depth of focus and also low light. Prime though, not a zoom. Dear(ish) but holds its price. Superb lens really.

Alternatively, spend £10 from China on a Nikon/Canon adapter like me. You can then get a very cheap Nikon/Canon 50mm F1.8 lens off ebay and use that. Manual focus only but with the Panny you have focus zoom to help get the focus sharp.

Not sure punto/polo parts fit with out modification, plenty of 500/A500 parts will fit with little or no work though. Also sharing this floor pan are ford ka, lancia/Chrysler epsylion so you could look there.

Personally as the ECU is closed, I'm only going to change filter and exhaust, if there is then an issue with the engine the A500 engine will get dropped in.

Hope that helps.

To give you an idea of the cheap way to get those shallow focus pix you dream about without paying over the odds, add this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nikon-Nikkor-AI-S-50mm-f-1-8-Lens-EX-/261238015621?pt=UK_Lenses_Filters_Lenses&hash=item3cd2ffc685

To this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nikon-G-to-Micro-4-3-M43-Mount-Adapter-G1-G10-GF2-GF3-EP1-EP3-EPL2-GX1-OM-D-E-M5-/290919957113?pt=UK_Photography_CameraLenses_Lens_caps_hoods_adaptors_ET&hash=item43bc2e4279

And then set your Panasonic G5 to manual focus, so you can use focus zoom.

Here’s some examples of mine, though mine’s a Nikon F1.4 (dearer of course) but not much difference. Ignore the subject - just to give you an idea of how you can create some neat shots for cheap money.

Perfect portrait lens.

So spent this morning removing the A500 suspension and reverting to standard after 10 days or so with it. No real improvement for me. Stuck the set on eBay and its sold already!

So now to save for the KW I feel.

Got an unusual squeek coming from the front left, now this was only happening under light braking or turning left, now after I had the wheel off to have a look its moved and is around centre and braking. It goes once you hit 20mph.

Was thinking maybe a build up or brake dust or even worn pads ?

Have you tried putting a dab of copper ease on the reaction frames? This thread shows what I'm talking about.
