My 07 plate panda 100hp has a small issue.

The remote central locking isn't working.

The key will start the car fine and you can lock the car with the central locking using the key but it would be nice to have the remote part too.

I have replaced the battery in the thob no luck there! sadly only have the one remote thob and the emergency start key.

Long shot but didnt know if the car had some kinda valet mode ?

Anyone ?

Its just a 2nd key, not an emergency start key.

The remote probably need reprogramming to the car, but might be worth disconnecting the car battery for an hour first though to see if that sorts it

Basically they will try to reprogram the car using examiner; if that doesn't work, they'll order a new key using the VIN, order the electronic code from Bristol, when they have both, you'll go back to the dealer when they will again use examiner to program both keys (the new one & your existing non-remote) to the car.

Expect to pay £50-£75 if the existing key can be reprogrammed; £200-£250 if a new key is needed.

I'd suggest you get a firm quote before agreeing to anything.

:yeahthat: although they'll need to order the key coding just to try and recode the key, if you do this make sure you get a copy of the code (you've paid for it) and keep it in a safe place

If i take it to fiat do you think they will charge me if they are not able to get the current key to work.

Sadly I think they would.

They will as you'll have to purchase the code and you've labour for diagnostics.
