General Where can I get Koni suspension off the shelf?

After various e-mails between the supplier, Koni and myself, we've managed to get something sorted out, still a 4 week lead time, but this time they are confident they can supply :)

A parcel van arrived yesterday and left me this parcel.

I wonder what this could be ?????

At last they've arrived....:) Well they haven't actually :(, this is not what I originally ordered as I was after the cheaper STR-T kit, but as Koni still couldn't confirm a delivery date I managed to agree an upgrade with Koni and Larkspeed for the adjustable set. Great service in the end and everybody is happy.

I know what I'm doing next weekend, once I work out how to adjust them, not as straight forward as the BC coilovers I have on my MX5

Happy Mike :D

I'd rather not say on the forum, as they did do me a really, really good deal. I did ask for free upgrade, which they couldn't do but Koni in Holland made me an offer I couldn't refuse as a way of an apology for the lengthy delay. (y)

Well done on getting your suspension sorted Mike!! (y) Due to my OCD and the fact I would be forever adjusting those I'm going to carry on waiting for the STR.T kits to come out fingers crossed it will be soon!! :bang:

I wasn't that bothered about having the adjustable ones, I have adjustable coilovers on my MX5 and only changed the settings once (and that was on a track day). The rear ones on this kit will be a pain to change as you have to compress the damper and then rotate it to change the settings, it's not just a small adjuster like other kits have, so once I've set it, it ain't changing.

As for the lead times on the STR-T kit I was talking to the UK importer who was telling me the story that Koni at short notice closed the factory in Spain where the STR-T kits were made and moved production to Holland where other products are currently made. As none of the machines were transferred the STR-T kits had to be re-engineered for them to be able to be produced on the existing lines in Holland. There are over 400 product lines that needed switching over and the process is taking a long time. Although they gave me a delivery time in mid July for the kit I ordered in March, reading between the lines, they didn't hold out much hope of it really being ready for then either.
If you're not in any hurry, maybe a nice Christmas present to yourself, but I would get them ordered now if I were you.;) My logic when I ordered the STR-T kit was that I wanted them straight away, but as time went one I'd saved the money to cover the difference in the prices anyway so going for the sport kit and knowing I'd get it soon made the decision an easy one to upgrade. :D

My dad has adjustable red Koni inserts on his 504, he got them set to the softest setting and left them there :) I suspect most do the same (though with a harder setting of course!)

yeah I have my Sport set up same, max soft at rear and quarter of a turn from softest at the front. Half a turn different will make the car act as a bouncy castle! :D

I have just had some blistens fitted at the rear and what a difference they have made, is it worth doing the fronts or leave them alone?

I am interested in maybe getting the blistens after you said that, I am having real issues with the standard shocks after fitting the spax lowering springs, around town it is fine on the motorway the bouncing is starting to become abit worrying!! May have to go down the koni sport adjustable rears as it feels like the rear standard shocks just can't coupe with the lowered springs.

The standard shocks can't cope with the standard springs, so your spring "upgrade" will be making things interesting.. it must be all over the place! I'd be getting replacement shocks ASAP.

Spot on. Standard set up was actually frightening in some situations - long ripply corners - joints between concrete sections on viaducts, for example - at 80 plus on the dual carriageway over the mountains north of Florence with a constant stream of lorries in the slow lane was buttock-clenching - adjustable Koni Sports on rear solved the problem.
