Just about to replace the plugs on the girlfirends Panda. It's a 57 plate 1.2 Dynamic 360 limited edition.

There are Fiat ones in it just now as i took one out for a look. Usually fit NGK to my Brava so want to fit NGK to the Panda although there seem to be 2 types listed.

Anyone any idea as to what ones will be needed?

Yes, both 12mm plugs [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]DCPR7E-N-10[/FONT]
and
14mm plugs [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]BKR5EZ[/FONT]
are listed.

You can usually tell what plug is it by the size of the key/socket to remove them.
Methinks the 12mm plug has a 16mm (5/8's) key.
And
14mm plug has a 21mm key (13/16)

The 14mm plug BKR5EZ is for 2004 models so definitely not the ones needed.

The plug i took out had 12mm thread however the NGK website has DCPR7E-N-10 12mm from 12/04 onwards and also ZKR7A-10 from 02/06 onwards. It doesn't state a size for the latter.

1.2 Pandas up to Euro4 use the DCPR7E-N-10. My 2010 model was fitted with these in the factory.

Euro5 engines use the ZKR7A-10 (as does the 1.2 500), which has an extra 2mm projection on the electrode tip.

If you want a better quality long life plug you can also fit the NGK DCPR7EIX. I've run these for over 10k miles in a Euro4 1.2 without issues; cold starting performance is slightly better than with the standard plug. Read more on the subject in this thread.

Still confused! When did Euro 5 engines start? If your 2010 car had DCPR7E-N-10 factory fitted why does it state on the NGK site that ZKR7A-10 is from 02/06 onwards.

Would the extra 2mm projection on the ZKR7A cause any problems on a car that has the DCPR7E-N-10 plugs fitted?

IIRC late 2010.

The ZKR7A was, I believe, developed by NGK & FIAT specifically for the Euro5 1.2 FIRE. The plugs are identical apart from the projected tip. As the Euro5 engine is higher compression that the Euro4, I wouldn't have thought there'd be any clearance issues with the ZKR7A in the Euro4 engine. IIRC we debated this issue to death in the thread I referenced earlier.

What plug type is recommended in the handbook that came with your car?

The car is at the good lady's house and she is not back over here until friday so i'll look then. I could get her to look but...........you know
