In the coming days I hope to be the proud owner of a Panda 100HP.

As I am new to the Fiat brand my familiarity with vehicle prices is limited, I want to run some things by people who have more experience in this area.

I am looking at a UK Panda 100HP (red) 2009 (MY09) with 23k (miles) on the clock and a full Fiat service history, sold by a non-Fiat dealer at £5,500. Is this about right?

Prices on Autotrader and eBay vary wildly, mileage seems to affect things a great deal but it looks, to this untrained eye, that greedy dealers have held strong on second hand prices and private adverts have done the same therefore holding the cost up on 2006/2007 vehicles.

What do we think future price prospects are for this little gem?

As a guide i paid 5200 for a 08 white 100HP with 32k and a FFSH,this was from a VW dealer as a approved used car, with a years warranty, the 100HP seems to fall into two camps with dealers, ones who think the model is worth more than it is due to the "rarity",and those who don't know what they're selling !

Thank you. May I ask when this was?

I think your point about the dealers perception is bang on the money.

They're hard to value cos there's so few - it's not like a Fiesta where you can nail the price down to the penny.

Most dealers are probably trying it out, but the price of yours seems about right - somewhere a grand either side of the £5000 mark at the moment. They'll defo be worth more in 25/30 years though........

I suppose if you paid £1000 too much, it's not like you're going to lose as much on the resale as some cars (or like some of us who bought their 100hp new).

Presumably you've driven it though. Over road bumps........with your significant other.........

Yes, we've been out in a couple and are aware of their unique driving characteristics.

To be honest it's a daily hack for me. Have a Lotus Elise for fun, wanted something with minimal costs and maximum fun and the 100HP seemed to fit the bill.

Sorry,i forgot that bit !,i got the car mid November, from the Whitby area,so the price was keener than London.

Fantastic. Thank you. The one I have found is very similar so I am happy with that.

Deposit paid. Collect on Saturday.

Oh you're all set then. We bought one of the last ones - March 2011. Wonderful thing and forgiven for the speed bumps.

But boy, will it pi55 people off when you overtake them. They hate it. Just watch on the bypasses as you come up in the outside lane to the back of a rep's delight diesel - you'll see the telltale black nuclear cloud as they drop a cog to accelerate. Man has his pride you know.

I was surprised when I finally test drove one. A lot quicker than I would have imagined and cruising in 6th is much more refined than I would have given it credit for.

Throw in the toys, deceptive practicality and super low running costs and I am a happy man. Roll on Saturday.

I paid 3800 from a dealer for a white 100hp, full fiat SH, mint condition, 38k on 07.

It used to belong to someone off here, stundies I believe.

I'm loving it
