Greetings!

I bought this obd cable to check for errors.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330804264795?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

When I test the connection on multiscan it says everything ok.

But it cannot connect to any modules.
When I scan for modules it just says complete and does not return any result.

I'm using a windows xp atom 280 netbook (asus 1000he).

I tried the cable with a friend on an Audi A6 TDI from 2001.
It worked fine.

What could be the problem with my Fiat Panda Multijet 2004 ?
The ECU was once programmed for a little extra Power.
They used a laptop and an usb cable.

The 'engine management light' warning is on so I really need a compatible cable to check the error codes (possibly EGR trouble).

The car runs normal but the light does not turn off.
Even when remove power from the battery for 10 minutes.

Any help would be useful.

My regards
