Well the little Panda got rear ended by a Focus at the w/kend. Not much damage - bumper and trim scuffed but not cracked or broken, bent egg sauce tail pipe and n/s rear inner wheel arch liner has popped out and broke the retaining tabs off. Focus went to pieces - bumper broke, reg plate off, Ford badge and grill smashed and bonnet creased, so plucky little car the Panda i reckon.

Been given a 12 plate 5 door Polo 60ps as courtesy and impressions are that it handles the bumps more smoothly than the Panda and the ride seems a lot more forgiving/damped but is noisy as hell ( 3 cyl ) and pretty gutless ( same power but must weigh nigh on half as much again ). Impossible to rev out in 4th ( limiter is 6200 ) and 5th is just an overdive really. Nice soft touch cabin plastics but all in all pretty dull.

Miss my Panda's character already

:(

Front end of a car is designed to deform more than the rear. I suspect the was probable more than meets the eye with your Panda. Make sure the gap around the rear doors is consistent all the way around once the car is returned (y)

Yes - rear is designed to protect the fuel tank by not deforming too much; front is designed to protect passengers by folding. Have a good look at the spare wheel well with the wheel out and in - has the wheel been shunted forward at all? If so, the floor's been bent. (I always wonder why films show the hero/heroine's car being rear-ended by the villain - chances are the car in front could drive away and the one behind couldn't.)
