Hi folks

My car failed its MOT this week because the upper bushes on the rear dampers are excessively worn.

I decided to see if I could get better quality replacements as the Fiat parts are junky so I ordered some Bilstein B4 OEM dampers.

Here they are:

The Bilstein part number is 19-197227 and they are specific to the 100HP.

I'm getting them fitted and the car retested tomorrow.

Hope this info may be of help to others.

Paul

Those ought to be fine - I fitted the Sachs equivalent about a year and 20k ago and have had no problems with the dampers since.

Need to fit a new bump stop again though - caught some air the other day and the bump stop cried enough :D

I tried searching for Sachs ones first, but nobody had them and they aren't even listed for the 100HP on the Sachs online catalogue anymore.

Do you have to check your bump stops often? I only really look at mine every other month or so (if I remember).

They rattle around in the coil spring when they fail so it is pretty obvious when they need attention. I've never actually inspected them as such - if it is not rattling it's fine as far as I'm concerned.

'Tis a shame the Sachs are no longer available if that is the case as I'm very happy with mine. However, the Bilsteins will be at least as good I would have thought.

Just posting to say that the dampers were fitted yesterday and the MOT passed.

I did a fair bit of driving yesterday on some of the crappy roads in Bucks and the back end seemed to be fine. There were some clonks coming from the rear before but all gone now.

I'm just happy to get my Panda back on the road (y)

How much did they set you back - I have just ordered some rears for £87 all in. I have just changed a rear bump stop, so replacing these is simple enough....how much did you pay to fit?
