Ok, found many threads here on this, but none that answer my question. Can anyone confirm if the reddish orange connector plug behind the bumper is for towbar wiring?, if it can be connected to a 7way bypass relay? and if so can post or point me to the pin out details please

No that plug isn't for towbar wiring so disregard it.

You'll need to connect your 7way bypass relay direct to the cars loom

Seconded - and make sure you take the power from the battery, as the CanBus wiring will throw a hissy fit if you don't.

Thirded however you can get a dedicated plug in loom kit
