Hi everyone.
First-time panda dynamic owner(57 plate).
I purchased it 2 months ago with 60k miles on the clock.
It had seemed ok, though fuel consumption wasnt and still isnt great:confused:.
A few weeks ago the clutch started juddering and then the 'injection system failure' light came on. Took it to my local garage(not a fiat garage btw)and they said the plugs needed changing, booked it in, they changed em and it was fine for two days. The light then came back on and the juddering started again. Took it back to the same garage who said that the plug change hadnt worked so they needed to change the coils, they did this and this time it lasted 3 days before going back to square one! :bang:.
Spent £200+ so far and its still as bad as it always was.
Im going back to the garage tomorrow and am wondering if anyone has any advice?
1) Has anyone else had this problem?
2) How do i fix it?
3) Have the garage ripped me off so far?
4) Do i need to go to an official dealer?

If anyone can help i would be most grateful.
Love the look of the car and desperately want it to work out but am already losing patience with it

HELP ME FIAT FOLK!

1] Bound to have
2] Keep throwing money at it 'till it's fixed
3] Possibly, maybe, perhaps, almost certainly
4] No

You haven't said whether the garage have read the fault code and/or mentioned what it may be. Yes, a main dealer is expensive, but so far one would [possibly] have diagnosed the fault for the cost of plugging in a reader, although personally I'd find an Indie to do it - or buy one yourself. Anyone mentioned Lambda sensor?

No, they dont have a reader so havnt given me any official codes or reasons for why its still doing this. They have asked me to drop it off tomorrow and they'll 'get round to having a look'.

Dont think they have done anything with the HT leads, they certainly havnt mentioned if they have.

Not entirely sure that they know what theyre doing...other than costing me money!
:(

I don't see how a garage can safely work on modern cars without a code reader! I'd take it somewhere better equipped myself.

I've learned my lesson the hard way here as well, although I had other reasons for chucking my car in a garage:p

You can get a Fiat lead from eBay for around £25, software is free to download from FiatECUScan website. Best thing I ever did! (y)

Thanks everyone, i'll look at getting a lead and reading it myself :)

My Panda 100HP always goes to the dealer, you may find a good indie that 'might' be able to fix it but why take the risk when the dealer has all the kit!!? As you said you have spent £200 on not getting the problem fixed where you could of spent that at the dealer and got it sorted!! I have used a lot of different garages over the years and only since i've had the panda i've used main dealers and i love them! ;)

I agree with this, always go to a dealer to get the car checked out esp if the "engine light" appears or the car does not drive right.
