i am thinking about changing my bravo 165 sport to somthing smaller, as I have just bought the wife somthing bigger!. I have been looking at 100hp pandas and quite like the idea, (used to be a big mini fan, in my younger years).
I am a little disapointed with the performace figures 10 secs 0-60, think this would make it 2 seconds slower than bravo, which will seem like forever.
I see that is naturaly asperated, has anyone fitted a turbo to the 1.4 16v, I see on piston heads someone that has gone a bit too far (160bhp) but would be nice to get to about 120-130bhp.
have any of you achived this

It is very difficult to justify the cost on increasing the power in a NA engine to 'Abarth' levels. If you really needed the power there are a few threads on NOS that looked interesting.

The ECU on the 100HP is locked so remapping isn't an option if you did spend the money on mods.
Some on here have bettered the 0-60 of 10 seconds on a 'standard' 100HP.

I've also got a 'fast' 200bhp car which I love.
The stats look poor. It doesn't feel slow - I think the fun factor knocks 4 secs off!

I'm sure the stats are 9.5seconds 0-62! But like Mario has said the pure fun factor - that it handles like a go kart, feels as though it has some grunt when driven it sports mode. It won't have the straight line pulling power from the torque your diesel does. But get it on some country lanes :D

Get a ragazzon exhaust and induction. Will see a slight power increase, seen RR graphs on here of upto 115hp. Anything more and you might as well save the outlay and buy an abarth 500 initially.

Book a test drive

Why not just get a 100HP and leave it as is, people moan about having to switch to a smaller/more efficient car but it aint as quick, of course it wont be otherwise you'd keep your current car, the money that you'd spend ruining it would cover the differance in mpg for miles and miles.
I went from 2007 Subaru Legacy Spec-B (which was quicker than the 165) to a 100HP thanks to a split up and kept it as is and I hardly notice the 5sec difference to 62 as I dont drive it like a 17 year old, if you want a fast small car go and buy one made like that, if you want a car that will put a smile on your face on the twisty roads and do 38mpg buy the Panda.
Just my thoughts :)
