I have a rattle behind the passenger airbag cover. Can anyone advise how the cover comes off?

I could say "when you hit something solid..."

But suspect that's not the right answer

It's unlikely to be behind the cover, but in fact the whole housing. It's a documented issue on here so should come up under a search, but basically remove the glove box and you can then tighten the airbag securing bolts which have probably loosened of slightly resulting in the rattle

Have you checked the right control stalk?? That might be where the rattle is (common fault) - solved with a rubber band..

Thanks for help. Removed the glove box and had a look at the airbag fixings and all looked fine. Will have to remove it again when I have someone to sit in the passenger seat while I drive and get them to try and locate it.

Actually though, Dan Friel's answer shouldn't be overlooked. My 4x4 often sounds like something's rattling on the passenger side of the dash, but it is actuallly from the steering column stalks. Just very lightly resting a finger from each hand on the ends of each stalk does indeed stop the sound. Must be something weird about the 'acoustics' of the Panda that this noise sounds like its from the other side of the car.

Thanks but it is the passenger airbag area. If the rattle starts and you push on the cover it stops.

My old Eleganza did the same, but fixed it with a tiny piece of grey cable-tie woodged into the joint between cover and dash.

Already throught about wedging something in but thought if I could get the cover off I could either sort it out or sandwitch a thin piece of sponge when I put it back.

Why not do the easier thing of tightening the retaining brackets as I've mentioned above

As already mentioned I have already had the glove box out and checked all fixings and nothing is loose. It is the cover that's rattling as it stops when you press on it. The problem is the gap around the edge to very narrow so don't want to stick anything in it if its just a case of popping it off and sorting it out properly.
