hello

i bought panda and was only given one key . ( the one without the remote )

i phoned a fiat dealer , to ask if they could supply a new key . they took my reg number and said yes but at a cost of 200 pounds.

ive looked on the net and on ebay for an alternative and had conflicting stories and its doing my nut in .

what i was wondering was . could i buy a used remote fob from ebay. get it reprogramed to open/close the doors and use it like a key chain , and use my existing key to start/drive the car.

theres a guy on ebay said he can do it for 40 pounds

its about 60 miles from me and i dont want to waste my time going on a hopeless cause ..

some people i have contacted said only fiat can program the keys, but a local locksmith said he can copy/clone my existing key for 70 pounds .but that does not get me into the car remotely .

any advise is welcome

ps i bought the car quite cheap 2 grand and would just have to live with using the key to open the doors than pay 200 pounds, to fiat for a key
