Goodevening everyone. I own a fiat panda dynamic 1.2 2005 model with 78000 Km. Lately I hear (on smooth tarmac mostly) a periodic noise that starts to sound at very low speed (20 km / h), increasing with speed and comes from the wheels (not sure if comes from the front or from the back of the car). 3 things crossed my mind:
1. Wheel bearings
2. faulty brake discs
3. faulty tyres
I went to the dealership and explained the problem, we did test ride with the engineer and then he lifted the car to determine which wheel had a problem. He said all wheels were spinning normally, no problem with wheel bearings nor brake discs and found a tire that was slightly askew. This was the cause in his opinion.
I changed the tires back and forth to see any change to the source of noise. Nothing changed.
I went to an independent garage and told them what was the car’s problem. We did the test ride, the engineer heard the noise, we agreed that we could not determine if the front or back and then he lifted the car. He said it as not a bearing, but the noise would appear only if the bearing was at pressure as in car movement and he could not identify the noise source, so he advised me to wait the bearing to wear MORE SO THAT HE COULD IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM.
It seems to me that of course there is a solution to identify which wheel produces noise and make the replacement of the failed component.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
