General New Pandas NCAP Test

My 2010 Panda lighs up like a Lada if you don't have your seat belt on :). Well its a subtle light with the seat belt symbol in it.

No suh thing as a low cost item. Sell 4million cars and save £1 on each one, you get the general idea.

As for the belt reminders etc making up the points, I'm nr sure about others but I look behond point gaining pointlessness like that as its go no bearing on the vehicle crash signature.
.

Typing dislexia from me on the ESP - you realise I didn't mean power steering.

Yes, saving small amounts in production adds up in volume sales. But the flip side of the balance sheet is how many sales you may lose by the product perhaps missing its demographic or lacking when compared to competition.

Regarding seat belt reminders (also operating instructions, passenger airbag disabling and warning labels), the reality is these "box ticking" elements contribute significantly to the Euro NCAP scoring and this score is a selling point for most consumers, not necessarily how the score was achieved.

Does the Panda beep as well if you drive with it undone or only flash
Well my 2009 Panda never made a noise, but the Spark and presumably other cars with these new seatbelt warning things makes a noise like the end of the world when it goes off.

There was a little light on the dash. I don't recall it ever making a noise.

New cars come with a little light per seat and some noises.

Strange. Dads 09 Eleganza doesn't have any sort of seatbelt warning, although it's pre 'Eco' range I think as the Eleganza Dualogic was dropped soon after.

I may be mis-remembering but isn't there a little red picture of a man with a seat belt on somewhere on the dash? I'm not sure if it's linked to the buckles or just lights up for bit when you turn the ignition on.

I'll check. There isn't one that actively operates of his but the 'blank' where it might have been if fitted might be in place on the instrument panel.

On my 2011 Panda Dynamic, there is a (single) red light which comes on if the drivers seatbelt is left undone, there is no noise. Haven`t noticed about any of the other seat belts are not fastened, but wouldn`t that mean it would be permanently on if not used? Not much point in that ...

That is exactly what my 2010 Active does.
