hello i have a 1.3 multijet panda and the gearbox casing has cracked . and i am having trouble locating one for a diesel panda.
my question is , would one from a petrol panda or one from a diesel 500 or punto be the same . thanks in advance . or is anyone selling a diesel gearbox in scotland/ north england

Please post a picture of the crack and I will tell you what fits from what. Either way, I can help with a replacement part as I have a multijet gearbox in my spares collection. I'm in Solihull though.

I want most of my multijet gearbox for a project, but I don't need it's bellhousing. That is why I asked where the cracks are. If it is the main case, which it sounds like it is, you can use a petrol case.

You can get petrol gearboxes cheap whereas the multijets are premium. That said, the one on eBay is a great deal.

They are the same cast aluminium alloy. I don't know whether welding is a good solution or not as I'm not expert enough in that field.

You won't struggle to get a petrol gearbox though; presumably it is the task of rebuilding the gearbox that puts you off that route?
