General Used Panda 4x4 availability and prices.

Slough advertising a Black Cross at £13995 !! 2nd hand! and apparently it has sold already, at what price I don't know but hope it wasn't anywhere near the asking price.

Black 58plate Cross with 20k miles just down the road from me for £7.5k.

It is supply and demand for these and the price seems high but there are 2 things to consider:
1. you will get a solid little car that will get you anywhere for years to come.
2. they are even more expensive in italy even though there are more around.

I have been looking for a car in Italy and thought it might be a good opportunity to get a cross, 10k Euros for 50-80000miles seems to be the going rate.
I'm not that desperate.

Is there a link to the Black cross near you? or is it in Italy?

Trouble is, come the first big snows of winter (which incidentally the doomongers say will be 'significant' this year), they'll sell every one of them - probably to annoyed owners of Q7's, RR's, Cayenne's etc, fed up with being laughed at by cheeky Italians.....

Tbh I think the doom monger forecasts were pure BS. No snow forecast for at least 2 weeks if not at least 3 or 4.....

If you look at the forecasts predicting snowpocalyptic weather they have so many get out clauses and vague statements it's not funny.

I'm not even in the market to buy one and won't be until may 2012 when my C1 goes back.
Maybe then prices will cool down a bit :)

T

I imagine that is a factor. Prices for convertibles go down in the summer of course. I reckon come late June of July in some warm weather you could get one for a reasonable price.

Has FIAT indicated when the new 4x4 will become available and when they are taking pre-orders?My 4x4 will likely be passed onto my eldest son by then, so i'll be in the market for another one. Just thinking ahead! Also, i had a look on the 'how many left' site and there are a fair number of 4x4s and Cross's out there, but still too few available for sale given the apparent demand...

The car near me is at Stoneacre Ackworth.

From what I have read the new 4x4 will be available towards the end of 2012. As the running gear is virtually identical to the existing 500 and therefore Panda there isn't a huge amount of work to do. More interesting is the multijet II with 85bhp and 90g/km in a Punto Evo. It would go nicely in the new 4x4.

Oh, you see we were both wrong. You predicted a £3500 mark up and I predicted a £3000 mark up. I guess they figured a £4000 mark up was much more appropriate.

However, we both know that almost all their 4x4 stock has been there months.........out in this part of Derbyshire we had record snow levels last year. I guess they're just hoping.

Now, remind me why FIAT are building RHD Ypsilons that nobody wants instead of re-tooling the Panda!

Well, who knows? :confused::confused:

Fiat I.E. are selling the 4x4 climbing again with the 69hp motor. So fiat are making RHD current models. Why Fiat UK are not bringing any in is a mystery.

Alot of things Fiat UK do or don't do is a mystery tbh. I'd love to work there, just to see what actually leads them to such nonsensical decisions.

On another note that Woodleigh garage has really got my back up. Surely knowone would pay £7995 for that red one? They're good cars but that's gotta be a joke.

On a brighter note i suppose it could help residuals on Panda's overall, if places keep prices THAT high. Still, GRRRR :bang:

Aye aye - stand by your beds. Three new 4x4s on Autotrader this week. Hope Woodleigh haven't spent all their pennies.

The silver one is probably already gone, being only 10 miles or so away.

And surely that Cross is worth more than £9500 at 3 years old..............surely!

Wonder if anyone in Ireland has forked out for a new Climbing model yet.....

And surely that Cross is worth more than £9500 at 3 years old..............surely!

That's nothing really. Aren't they about 12K-ish new? If it's only lost around 3K in three years that's nothing.

My old MJ lost half it's value in 9 months(!).

My 2.5 year old 100hp lost more than 50% of it's list price in 2.5 years.

Yes, the base Panda's and 100hp lose a lot initially, but they never get supercheap. No different to your average Ford. I can remember back in the 1980's buying Panda's for a few hundred at 3 years old.

Bloke I know used to tell me about how a BMW would retain 55% after 3 years and FIATs retain 30%. Not hard to debunk that with £20000 loss versus £5000 loss.

However..........the Panada 4x4s have become legenedary in their retail value. No other modern car can match a 100%+ resale value at 3+ years old. We have a small company in Grassmoor to thank.............well them and FIAT for stopping selling it here.

It's not just a small company in Grassmoor. Thames Motorgroup in Slough are selling a Cross with 8,908 miles on the clock for £13,995. That's two and a half grand more than I paid new for mine a year and a half ago! I never thought of my car as being an investment but this one is doing better than my savings account!

I bought my 100hp from Woodleigh, the day I phoned to confirm the purchase they had dropped the price by £500 to what seemed a not too bad price. Could have got a black one a year newer from Arnold Clark for same price but I wanted the grey. I see what they're doing though.

The Climbing is only 1242 petrol, the Cross is only 1248 turbo-diesel.

Only the climbing is being sold in Ireland - for €13500.
