I don't know if it is me, but I really like the look of both the 4x4 and the 100. but I want the economy and the extra bit of grunt the Multijet gives, and I really like driving my multijet.

How practical would it be to either up the ride a bit and put the additional body trims, arches and bumber plates on (and alloys of course) to make it look like a 4x4, giving me useful ground clearance and chunkier looks?

Or would it be easier to lower it & put some 15" wheels with the 100 styling touches on instead - not sure I am that keen on that though as I want a compliant ride & a bit of ground clearance.

Pie in the sky? Lots of money?

I am getting used to 70mpg, that is the trouble!

Anyone done anything like this?

You could just buy a Multijet 4x4.

There's the Marmite Cross (not wanting to offend, but I couldn't live with it's looks, sorry owners)

Or if you can live with a left hooker, import a normal Climbing Multijet 4x4.
They're so narrow and overtaking isn't a bigg issue I could easily live with LHD.
They didn't sell them in the UK but they are everywhere in Italy.

There's even a Van one and a base spec version (Seems the Active isn't the base spec in italy, god know what their base spec comes with as standard, Seats? Steering wheel?)

Thanks for the info. Importing is not really a viable option as they are not easy to insure, and usually expensive. Interesting site though, amazing how the ad descriptions have an almost universal language!

The Cross is is bit 'over styled' for my tastes I am afraid, but if I found the right one I might be tempted - but they are frighteningly expensive, and very, very rare!

All I am thinking of is a bit more ground clearance, alloys, and the trims, on my 08 Multijet, just so it doesn't give that 'District Nurse' impression.

I think that's all part of the charm for me.
My Panda is only for scooting about London, back and forth to work etc.
I've a couple of other cars that what you might say "stand out" a Jag and an Alfa.

That's why I went for the an Active, Black seats, black plastic bumpers and in Silver so the stains and scratches don't show as much!
But saying this, I did go and put some "love handles" on the roof!

I posted a link to an Italian Ebayer who sells replica Alloy wheels fairly cheaply in another post.

I wouldn't know about raising the suspension, you'd have to consider the handling drawbacks!

Simply putting 4x4 alloys and a bodykit on your MJ isn't going to give it anymore ground clearance.

The 4x4 also has different rear suspension and to fit that rear suspension you'd have to put the 4x4 drivetrain into the car also. It's not going to be economical at all.

That was what I have been trying to find out, now I know, maybe I will just get some alloys for it & wear my wife's nurses outfit.

Did I just say that out loud?
