Hi all,

New to all this. Basically what I'm just looking for is someone to guide me about the cost of repairs.

Both handbrake cables have snapped and the garage is looking for £138 to get these replaced. I feel this is a bit steep but I've never had to replace them before.

Does anyone have any advice at all? Does this seem reasonable or should I go somewhere else?

Any help is much appreciated.

Belana :)

Hi,

I have an 06 plate Panda 4x4. The price in all in as far as I know - he quoted £115 for parts and one hour labour and I added the VAT to make it £138.

Hope that makes sense?

The labour seems very cheap, but the part seems very expensive but then I have no idea how much handbrake cables should cost or what is involved.

Panda 4x4 handbrake cables are actually the easiest of the lot to fit. They just hook onto a lever behind the brake caliper. Probably as easy as a bicycle brake cable!
However, I suspect the cables themselves are the expensive bit, probably dealer only availability.
