hi i bought a panda dynamic diesel but only got 1 key with it ( not a fob ) i enquired with fiat and found the car has remote central locking ,and they can get me a key with a fob for 200 + pounds .

as i only bought the car for 1800 i thought i could live without the remote. but this is proving a pain, as i keep going to the passengers side then finding there is no key lock.

so i was thinking could i not get a key fob and remote sensor from a breakers.

change the sensor with my own and use the fob to open the car and use my own key to drive the car ? .....would this work ( plug and play ) or is there more to it than this? ( reprograming needed)

next question ....where is the sensor ?

ps i contacted the previous owner and the remote fob was lost ( damaged)

If you download a licensed copy of FiatECUscan and get your immobiliser code you should be able to programme a fob to the RCL and will just need to use the original key for driving.

thanks mate .a bit too technical for me ......but i will pass the info on to a mate , see what he makes of it ,and let you know how i get on ...

ps....i looked on the fiatecuscan website and could not find anything about remote locking .

thanks again M.E.P. it gives me a base to start looking to solve my problem.
