Hey guys,

just wondering is it possible to change the wing mirrors on my 54 panda 1.1 active for electric ones?

if so how do you do it?

Onboard computer would probably say no...

I don't know any Panda's with wing mirrors, but I know Electric door mirrors won't fit.

Cant see the point either personally concidering how often mirrors are normally adjusted.

You'd likely need to get all the wiring and asociated gubbins.

Given wing mirrors are hardly ever adjusted, is it really worth it?

I think he might mean the electrically heated ones. But I doubt the Active would have any wiring, etc. I was told that you could only have them with Aircon...

My Corsa had electric mirrors, they could be very handy in certain tight parking situations but I don't miss them at all. In the grand scheme of things they are just something expensive which can get damaged. I love my black active ones, as I know I can fix them for peanuts.

I haven`t had my car for a winter yet, but I`m guessing the electric mirrors (my car has) would be useful as they`re heated and should get rid of ice/snow fairly quickly?

I've yet to find a Panda with working heated mirrors seemed to be a typo in the brochure

Yours work with the rear screen heater turned on? You want to change your duff one, Stilo only had one working when I got it, only £15 for another glass

My 100hp didn't have heated mirrors.

Snap though not in Manchester I hope

Well, I have it in an email from the dealer that it`s heated, so he`s making a typo too lol

I did read that they come on when the rear window heater is switched on, though I`ve yet to do that as well

What's wrong with just wiping/scraping the mirror if it's icy?

Not having heated mirrors isn't a bit issue really.

They're not just for ice.
It depends where you drive but if you're going up and down high enough hills you'll find they mist over in a few seconds.
It's not the end of the world but it saves opening the window and wiping them on what is inevitably a cold wet crappy day.

:yeahthat: it's more for when they fog over in areas of temperature change, and wiping the NS mirror when driving isn't easy

Whilst I'm against pointless convenience like heated windscreens and automatic lights, wipers and so on, I think heated mirrors make sense.

Oooh I would have killed for a heated windscreen in the winter back when I had a diesel. The extra stop at the end of the road to clear ice off the inside of the windscreen (from breathing) was a pain in the arse.

Worst of all was our Punto 1.9D (not the JTD which was OK) which was so bad we resorted to one of those crappy fan heaters that plug into the ciggie socket.
