Hi I am trying to fit a rear mount cycle carrier on my new panda but the rear wiper blade keeps activating when I switch on front wipers. This is obviously going to damage the blade. Is there anyway to de-activate the auto wipe??

It will only activate if you put on the front wipers whilst you are in reverse. Or, possibly (I can't remember) if you have the rear wiper set to on.

Hello , not a stupid question ..,as I've trashed a rear wiper doing the same thing,
" got caught up in the cycle-carriers frame",

have a look in the fusebox , there is probably one that only powers the rear wiper,
If you pull that out and put it in the odd ments tray you should be safe..,

Or remove the wiper arm. A 30 sec job with a 10mm socket

Or just don't use the wipers when reversing.

To echo the above, yes, the rear wiper will only worked if switched to 'on' or when the front wipers are on and reverse gear is selected. Switch off the wipers before reversing and you will be fine.

...just remember to put a Post-It note on the dash
