I have been getting the steering light coming on sometimes and the steering feeling wierd.
So I have scanned the ecu using fiatecuscan and have got a fault code of C1002 but am not sure what this code means . Anyone know what this means?
If I need to replace the eps are they model specific or can I replace it with one from any panda?

Hi - have had nightmare EPS scenario over last 2 weeks, sent whole unit to bba-reman.com for rebuild - my panda 5 years old, only 25k on clock.
Total original cost £537.48 (incl local garage labour).
Took car home, vibration in steering gone - but EPS failed every time I turned to the right!
Took to Fiat, diagnostics code C1002 - same as yours - reset via computer but "may recur".
Don't know if this code C1002 is just a recalibration issue or something more... paid another £72 to Fiat, total now £609.48...

Today the light came on again and the code C1002 so I have recalibrated the steering using ECU scan software.
I am going to get a eps from Ebay .There are a couple of sellers that list a number of 26096580 which is the same as mine but the 3 digits after this are different.
Can anyone confirm that this would not matter .
