Maybe it was a misguided attempt to deal with the famous Panda rear disc squeak/grind noises.

No it was not misguided attempt as the fronts needed to be changed. :)

My car does squeak at low speed, which company does a set of rear drums / disc's & how much do they cost..?
 
When I said misguided I meant that someone may have thought fitting grooved discs would cure the ubiquitous Panda rear disc squeak. They won't.
The cure is to thoroughly clean all parts of the calliper and reassemble, probably with new pads, with very light and careful application of copper grease at points where pads meet metal.
I would get rid of those awful grooved discs as well.

Pattern parts, well I've used EBC rear discs and pads and was happy, though some on here do not like them much

I bought some brembo oem discs and pads from ap brake store for the rears.
£22 for the discs and £25 for the pads

solved my issue as the dealer couldnt
