Hi everyone, I don't know if you remember me posting that I was going to get a Panda before my GF's dad told us to look around other cars before we make another cock-up (See the various posts about my 54 Reg Punto)
Anyway, the choice of a new car has come down to these three motors:

1) Hyundai Getz 1.3 Sport 3dr

2) Fiat Panda 1.2 Eleganza (In silver)

3) VW Polo 1.2 "Twist" 3dr

EDIT: Second choice amended to a Panda, NOT a Punto DOH!

What would you pick out of those three? I would like the Panda, but after the nightmare I've had with the Punto I've been told to look away from the Fiat brand (Which I'm not too happy about....)

Thanks again :)

No, no, no - you must go back and put the Panda on the list. I'd always thought that Fiat had a bit of a shaky reputation (rust etc) and had never owned one before. However, I absolutely love my Panda - it's the best car ever. It's going for it's first annual service tomorrow (10800 miles) and I have had no problems whatsoever during my first year of ownership. I have had not one regret at buying it. (I'm sure I've read that it's on a different quality level than the Punto - never had one of those so can't really comment.) Have you had test drives in all your cars on your short list?

Sorry about that mate, the second choice is MENT to be a Panda. I just mis-typed it that's all

I test drove a Seat Ibiza today, and I can't believe how crap it was! Everything in the car rattled, and there was no leg or head room at all, just awful.
I was thinking about the new Mitsubishi Colt, but I've heard a lot of bad things about them.....

Thought about a Skoda Fabia :)

Theyre just a Polo but a bit cheaper.

They're not that much cheaper mate. And the lower spec ones are "tight" on goodies and decent engines.

EDIT:I've just had a look on the Skoda website, and they're doing the Fabia Ambiente 1.2 12v 64 BHP model with air con for £8145! Might be worth a look.....

Get the Panda, Hyundais are expensive to maintain as parts are pricey and they will devalue so fast. Polos drive so boringly and the VW group suffers from a lot of quality issues nowadays as Germany is in a big reccesion now. Just get that Panda!

Well, after looking at the Panda today, my missus fell in love with it! It looks amazing in silver :D We pick it up on Saturday, hooray :)

Well after my Punto (Which I have managed to warp the front disks in 9000 miles, and is slowing falling apart in front of my very eyes) I'm a bit scared of owning another Fiat, but I've have been pleased with what people have been saying about the build quality of the little Panda (Just watch, now I've brought one all the horror stories will come flooding in....) So fingers crossed it should be a great motor. I'll post some pictures when I get it.
