What sort of MPG are owners of the 1.2 Euro 5 engine getting, especially around town, short journeys etc.

And whats the handling like of normal Panda's, speed bumps, pot holes etc. Its been a while since i drove a non 100HP Panda and I cant remember what it was like. Not bothered about cornering, just general ride comfort.

The standard Pandas handle speed pumps and potholes just fine, you'll probably find it a lot less bouncy than the 100HP. It has longer suspension travel so the ride is a lot more comfortable, but you'll have significant body roll.

When you say slide "OFF" wet roundabouts are you going straight over the grass or following the road round to the left??

sorry couldn't resist just my twisted sence of humour i guess!

cheers simon

My 1.2 Active Motion is averaging 46.5mpg over 3k miles (My Active eco 1.1 averaged 43.8 over 9k miles and wouldn't go up hills!). I find the ride good and the roadholding is also good it only slides wide if you really push it in the wet on a tight curve.

i stuck black alloy wheels off an old punto (£35 from a Scrappie(y)) on my panda 1.1 with 195/45/14 tyres to try and sort of stop it going off on roundabouts:slayer:

better late than never. Our 1.2 returns about 47mpg which I don't think is bad as it's usual commute is about 3 miles each way. The 100hp is now up to 46mpg on last couple of fill ups but a different type of motoring.

I had an MJ before I had the 100hp. Ride wise it was much more comfortable. Stupid amounts of body roll though and tons on understeer on wet roundabouts.

So more comfortable, but frustratingly slow in wet conditions. It fared better in the dry, but I had my other half following me once in the Integra R and he was nearly in tears laughing as it looked like the MJ was about to roll over on the corners.

The MJ is definitely nose-heavy, the standard bike-sized eco tyres just increase the understeer. Especially so in wet conditions where they have absolutely no grip.

I've fitted a better set of rubber to mine since I was putting it on alloys and it helped immensely. You still have to keep it on a tight leash to keep it from understeering, just not quite as much as before.

The 1.2 I test drove was not quite as bad. Still understeering, but the lighter nose helped a bit.

43mpg on a two mile journey? Oi veh, it must be turning in 70+ if it ever gets a chance to warm up!
