I might upgrade the front brake pads with some "race" versions, what companies do pads for the 100HP..?

Plenty of 'mildly uprated' pads will work well and make sense for a 100HP (much personal preference and varying opinions, but Ferodo, Mintex, EBC all make perfectly reasonable uprated items), but don't take anything that claims to be a "race" pad for the road, as it won't work.

I have had nothing but grief from any EBC product fitted to several cars. I wouldn't even recommend them to someone I don't like. Expensive toys.

You don't need to up the pads in the 100hp unless you are doing some seriously hard driving or on track. Start with changing your fluid to super 4 or 5.1 which will give you noticeably less fade after heavy braking.

I went throught the CEO of the company and he made up a set of the v7 of the pads for me as they werent in production yet and they were spot on
I guess its different for each car though so fair point if they werent right for you

Standard pads survived another track day. No fade at all, however, did have new brake fluid in. Will report back and give an honest review of EBC greenstuff when fitted.

LOL @ Stu ! ;)

I didn't get on that well with the lack of initial bite with Greenstuff on another car, but I have found Yellowstuff better (even from cold). Look forward to hearing the Greenstuff review in the 100HP.

Like I said in my earlier post - plenty of polarised views on pads, so it really is a personal preference and probably reflects how differently people use their brakes....

However - I have EBC Greenstuff all round on my 4x4 and love them. Simples.

I have just bought DS2500's for mine FCP1466H These have studs on the back plate preventing it fitting the caliper. Has anyone come across this before? OK to remove em I take it?

Also I am looking for 2 piece discs. Anyone got any ideas? Whats the standard front disc size?

DS2500's are fine and I have used them in many cars before, but they are sensitive to bedding in and if not done correctly it's easy to get uneven layering on the face of the disc which leads to what feels like warped discs, when in fact it's just not been bedded properly.

Be wary of hacking bits off pads unless you're absolutely certain you know why you're doing it - if the pads don't fit then they're the wrong ones, simple as that.

If you're after genuine brake advice and a supplier of one-off custom kits, then look to Hi-Spec in Dartford, as their work is very good in my experience and they can supply any size, shape and flavour of brake kit you require. But they are a professional outfit and although not overpriced as far as I am concerned, remember that you get what you pay for in this world. Caveat Emptor and all that!

Why would you want piece discs? Not to be funny but it's only a 100hp and not an Impreza with close to 300bhp which weighs 1500kg's.
