Hi
Just to say i got a new Fridge/freezer in the back of the Panda today, with help of a bit of string.:):)

Hope someone might find it interesting.

Cheers Chris(y)

Was it this sort of size? Got 2 in the Classic Panda with no string  :D

That were about 5 years ago, both free, and both going strong as drinks fridges in the summer, sitting in a 40C outhouse. No compressor issues with them luckily (not that one can moan if they cost nothing anyways) :)

That's an inventive way to get air con in an old Panda :D:D:D

dunno but the freezer will break not right away may last 3 months may last 6. just after the guarantee on a second hand one has run out. my mrs daughter and son are all in the trade of selling and delivering them too

It really doesn't harm the fridge/freezer. Lay it flat and the refrigerant and oil mix will flow out of the compressor and into the lines at the back of the unit. All you have to do is leave it for a few hours for the mix to flow back into the compressor and it will work absolutely fine. Switching the appliance on as soon as its upright again could lead to premature compressor failure so just needs a few hours settling time.

I got a little chest freezer in mine, no string required either. :D Also got one of my best ever mpg while transporting it, I couldn't see round the damn thing properly so didn't feel I wanted to zip in and out of lanes. :D

Oh, and the freezer still works! Apparently you just have to leave it long enough for all the oil in the bottom to run back down.
