Greetings, Citizens.

Plug here, late of classic Panda section. My old Panda went to a new home yesterday  after 5 years in our care and I've now picked up a 100HP in its place. It's a 57 reg, Treseo Blue (insert "best colour" argument here ;)) and completely standard, so you will all know what it looks like. One owner and 24K on the clock, it all seems pretty clean.

So I shall be popping my head around the door in here and asking questions, no doubt, although I will still be keeping in contact with the good-natured lunatics in the classic section :)..

Cheers,

Plug

Hi Garry.

Your new 100hp looks great and one of my favourite colours too. I hope you enjoy you new Panda as much as I'm enjoying NuPanda :)

What's wrong with the blue people?

Red (in general) tend to fade and the grey ones are rather dull IMO. Lol.

I do actually think all the colours for the 100hp are great apart from I don't really like the black, white has to be my favourite.....personally I think the grey is the most classy colour, makes the panda look really smart! :)

I always though the blue 100s needed some Valentino Rossi style decals once fiat started the sponsorship deal with the Yamaha team.

Yes I could not agree more with this, I can just picture the colour scheme in my head! (y)

I agree as well - I would like to see someone do a VR Yamaha replica scheme on their 100HP

As for colours, white is also a favourite, as is blue and red. Black is a little too understated and grey may be classy but it's not very 'racey'. When I bought mine, they only had grey in stock, so that's what I ended up with! [I'm still happy though :)].

Thanks for the welcomes, hopefully all will be good with the new car. I still feel bad about selling the old one - it felt like kicking a puppy.

Mrs. Plug needs to acclimatize to the new car - obviously it's a very different drive to a classic - but I like it well enough. The throttle pedal has no feel - anyone come up with a solution for this? (other than just mashing it into the carpet on every possible occasion :)) and the brakes are over-servoed in my opinion, but then I wasn't on the design team..

Cheers,

Plug

Especially in Sport mode - which I have on 99% of the time - you need to feed the throttle in just ahead of the engine revs for max acceleration, if you see what I mean - it's easy to over-open it and actually loose some oomph. The later cars have less sensitive brake pedal - much smoother - there was some discussion about updating the old one a while ago.

Is the Panda 100 HP drive by wire, because im sure I saw in like car mechanics magazine that the was a device that could be fitted to enhance the signal of the throttle being pressed.

I'm still experimenting with the Sport button.. neither setting is ideal. With sport mode on, it's too easy to get the car to kangaroo on a light throttle setting in 2nd.. ooh, just what you might need in town traffic. It needs mechanical damping..

Otherwise, in normal mode, it doesn't go anywhere unless you mash the pedal.

I find the steering's much too light in normal mode.. Mrs Plug likes it that way but I prefer more feedback and it just doesn't deliver.. at least it's a little better in Sport with less assistance.

And although it's much nipper than the old Parade, I find myself wishing it had a 150HP badge on the back :). How much can you get from a remap? Not 50HP, I'll bet..

Cheers,

Plug
