I have a 2004 Eleganza. Recently it has been intermittently emitting a warning "bong" sound from the centre console, as per the ice warning, for no apparent reason. It is not accompanied by a warning message on the clock display. All the fluids are ok. The service warning comes on when the car is first started, but I don’t think that this is connected. It is quite annoying, and I would welcome any ideas or suggestions as to its cause. Thanks

My 2010 eleganza has a speed beep which can be configured to activate at any speed you like, but a corresponding message appears on the display when it happens.

Yeah, thanks I ve already looked at that but doesnt seem to correspond with speed.

I find the 'bong' or 'beep' only comes on when there's an ice warning, you pull the handbrake on too soon, when or a door is opened even when the car is slightly moving, or like Lamlash described above. It's just an alert to warn the driver of something

Could be a sensor on the handbrake at a guess
Just a though though, i'm no mechanic by all means
