I want to mount Semi slicks but they are only in 195/50/15.There is not one brand that makes semi slicks in 195/50/15.
I was wondering how that looks with 195/50/15.
Can anyone post some pics of a 100HP with 195/50/15 tires?

Can't believe that you'd notice any difference at all in the look..

you sure can, well i think so anyway, 50 profile gives a too high side wall for a 100hp in my opinion plus makes the wheels look smaller.

Your right that no semi slick type tyres are available in 195/45r15.. can i ask why you want to fit this type of tyre? i presume your looking at toyo r888s or similar? is your car on the stock suspension? if so i'd advise looking at that before you go for this type of tyre. Plus i'd imagine you would more likely having rubbing issues when you lowered it with 50 profiles.

I've got to replace my front tyres soon and as f1's are getting harder to come by now, i'm going to make the switch over to Continental SportContact 2's front and back and then look at upgrading the suspension.

I am riding a panda 100hp with KW coilovers. At the front i have Falken Ziex 912 and at the back the Eagle f1's in 195/45/15.
The 100hp is my second car, daily i drive a Gp Tjet sport with 175hp.I have the 100hp to go on the track so now and then, that's why i want the Semi slicks.I looked at Toyo R888 but a friend of mine who drive a Subaru told me that the Federal 595rs-s Semi slick is as good as the 'R888 but they warm up faster. That's why...

I only want to know how it looks with they higher sidewall.Because i drive with KW i can set the height if they are gonna rubb.

if ya getting them for track days what does it matter what they look like you'll still be slow:)

Lol Mick does have a point.. unusual choice as a track car, i'd of thought your punto would be a fair bit quicker! do you have any pics of your car? how low have you got it?

I took a panda 100hp not to beat the circuit record, otherwise i bought a lotus or something.....The 100hp just is a steering car, when i step in the car i want to stap on the gas.I had driven a 100hp before and i could not forget the car, that's why i bought one again.I just want to drive it on the track as a afforteble hobby. On a short circuit i think the 100hp is a perfect car for that with the KW coilovers fitted.
Here is a pic.

Maybe i must take a look at more descent 195/45/15 tyres......

I have to say that is a pretty sweet looking 100hp !

How many mm has that been lowered?

Car looks really good Marc, nice height. I think the Michelin Exalto and Continental contisport 2 are the top end tyres in 100hp size, i'll have the contis on mine by the end of this month and after 3 sets of Eagle f1's i'll certainly be able to offer a comparison between the two. Saying that it's not to say that these will be best on track.. i've found sometimes the cheaper tyres can perform better it terms of durability and overall fun, something like toyo t1r's could be worth a look. With coilovers i think r888's in 50 profile are a option worth considering, however i'd be worried they may offer too much grip and make it a touch boring!

Track driving is not road driving though is it? In reality, the fairly sharp feeling 100HP will turn into the understeer king with no go out of corners due to FWD traction issues. The tyres would help both these things a bit. More power would help more with the 100HP on track, but the guy is out for a bit of a laugh as he's got other faster cars by the sounds of it.

I've got a 500, 1.4, same platform. The R888's on 15"s in the dimensions mentioned were interesting but even when warm you end up with the inside spinning up and you just burn off expensive rubber. And a set of toyo R888's is the wrong end of £300.

If you really want a difference, forget the sticky toyos and fit a quaife atb diff. On T1R's with the quaife I can run rings around some pretty exotic machinery in the corners. Ok, you're rougher on tyres but T1R's at £30 a throw are disposable items. And if he's out for the fun factor, this is the sweet spot.

I'll love to have a tyre of 205 or 225 / 45 / 15 on my car, but i'm sure they would not fit. What is the widest tyre I could fit to a 10HP.

Anyone got "air suspension" fitted to their car..?

The fact that he wants fun is the reason i wouldnt go for r888's.. it may grip better but i think the balance between grip and power would be trashed and ultimately make it less fun and less adjustable. LSD and toyo t1r's sounds more like it.

Or preferably LSD and something like A539s (if you could get them) with say 40psi in the rears might make it even more fun. :p

Sure. I have a Quaife LSD in all my cars now as I just put one in my 100HP. They are good, but few people will realistically do this for a bit of fun on the track. People are happy to spend a fair bit on wheels and coilovers because it achieves a look they want with a by-product of performance in some cases.

I said gripper tyres will help, but not a lot. My classic Panda will still not put full or near full power down out of tight corners, even with the LSD and semi-slick tyres. It is several times better than without the LSD, but still must obey the physics when on the ragged edge.

I think it is easy to come up with the best solution, but an easy or "right" solution is sometimes a difficult judgement. Sometimes that point is missed quite a bit in my opinion.

As suggested, a cheap softish tyre like the T1Rs is a pretty good way to go for this guy. The R888s in most places are a bit rich for the gains perhaps. Second hand racing slicks are good track option in the dry at around £10-£15 a ago.
