As I'm still a saddo:

The Panda isn't covering such a high mileage at the moment as I am instructing part-time due to another project. However, it's still not bad for a car first used in October 2007 :)

Ian, as an instructor car did you do anything with the side mirrors? I find them quite small.
I know that on 2010 model there are lager mirrors and will try to get them when have a chance.

You are right, the mirrors are small. This is especially noticeable when coming from something else of a newer design. However, I have always worked on the basis of 'this is what the car comes with, so learn to deal with it.' I have never fitted additional side mirrors and nor do I allow students to lower the LH mirror for manoeuvres. Without wishing to tempt fate [touch wood!], this has not impacted on test results.

The 2010MY Panda mirrors would definitely be better though and I think that they actually suit the character of the car more [perhaps not on the 100HP though?].

There was a local instructor with a Honda Civic who had bolted on another full-size mirror. What next, a set of mirrors from a HGV?!

Hi everyone! I've been away for quite a while but the Panda has now reached its 100k anniversary :)

In that time, apart from scheduled servicing, it has required two O2 sensors [one was replaced under warranty] and a NSF ball joint/lower arm. It passed the second MOT with just an advisory for the ball joint [which was knocking, to be fair]. All of the bulbs are original with the exception of the rear fog light [which is never used].

I am still using the car as my daily driver and for driving tuition, whilst this year sees me resume my racing career in the BMW Kumho Championship [hence my lack of opportunity to be on here]. So, to summarise, the car has served me well and with luck, it will continue to do so (y)

I thought cambelts normally get changed around the 60k mark no matter what condition they are in.

The clutch should last a long time unless the driver "rides it everywhere" or redlines in every gear.

Every car built today can easly cover 100k miles.(y)

Indeed the timing belt should be changed at age / mileage interval regardless of its condition.

Clutch won't go if you red line the car a lot, only if you ride it. :)

You planning to race at Thruxton in October?? I'll be marshalling, so will come and say hello if so.. Good luck with the season.

I've had my MJ for over 18 months now, and I've had the red steering wheel light come on at least 3 times, although the steering performance has remained the same as far as I could tell. On each occasion, it has gone out again after a few restarts. Good thing is that it hasn't lit at all since December last year.

I suppose it's only a matter of time though. :(

Probably battery related.
