It was an option that as no one smokes in the car seemed a waste of £45... never thought about it futher than that...

So if I'd had it fitted where does it go ? Can anyone take a picture? Does anyone have the wiring spec for it ?

Thanks

Steve

Is it not just for an actual 'lighter' thing to put into the already existing power socket, and an ashtray (which I think consists of a moveable plastic tub located in one of the cup holders?). £45 for those two items does seem a bit much.

Or is the power socket not always supplied these days?

On the Dynamic, the lighter socket is between the handbrake and cup holder thingies - Italian cups must come in very odd sizes, not found bugger all that sits in ours. Seems that even if you had a socket though, without the smoker's pack being fitted originally, there's no power. Have a read here, it might all come clear,

Mine is only the active eco, infront of the handbrake is the cupholder thing with a tiny little 3rd square hole about 1inch by 2inch... could you take a pic of where yours is... thanks...

Ps should I go back to the dealer and ask them to fit it or just make it look factory fitted and hope it doesn't bother them ?

i had to spec my car with the option.

if your any good with electrics then you could route the supply from another source such as interior light as you never really use the 2 together it shouldnt be a problem

Can't do a pic tonight, maybe somebody else can? Didn't you follow the link I posted? It pretty much covers everything including a photo of an Active setup...It seems having the dealers do it, even if they would, will be very expensive.

yes thanks, got the links, read through but nothing is showing me exactly where it should go... don't want it to stand out as being after market if I have to do it myself (don't want to void anything...)

Pic will be useful...

from what the links are saying, the wire should be somewhere near the handbrake (possibly even terminated with a connector) but isn't likely to be terminated in the fusebox... does anyone have a schematic of this ?)

thanks again...

Steve

can't see a pic of the active set up ??

Here's a plastic bit, http://tiny.cc/v1zvq as for the wiring, the has to be someone on here who can help, one or two have practically dismantled their cars before now....

the link just shows a 404 error ?

ah it works when I'm logged in... doh...

thanks but I meant the other bit of plastic that the actual cigarette lighter bit goes into... on my car it doesn't of the grey plastic "top" bit where it goes, mine is just another hole like the cupholders but square...

thanks

cheers for that... looks like I might have to fashion something as I don't want to get a scrap one/new one that has the extra buttons that aren't used in mine ...

i ran mine direct from the battery with an inline fuse ,this might be of some help

thanks for that, looks a decent job... however I had a quick look at mine (base model) last night and it appears to have to connectors (one with about 9 pins which I think is the other button for electric mirrors or something) and one (a sturdy white one) with with 3 pins which I presume is for the 12volt power/cigarette lighter, under where the cupholder bit is.... When I get chance I'll check for voltage...

From what I can gather from the other threads on this subject there's nothing on the other end of those wires in the fuse box. The required relay isn't there and neither are the terminals to plug one in...

yep you are right its not connected and there was no power in the wiring on our active eco

Will be +ve feed, -ve feed, and +ve lighting feed (sidelights for power socket light).

Fiat in the past have always connected wiring if they've put it in place, wouldn't surprise me if you can plug it in an go.

Sisters Active is like this with the boot light and boot lock (none electronic, but wiring is there, install electronic lock for boot open switch for light and it'll work (y)).
