Re: The sport button really does work!

Mine gets turned off for multi-story carparks and thats about it. Nearly tore my shoulder off trying to do some micro-positioning of the car in the tiniest hotel carpoark in the world when I forgot to once.

I regularly use it in traffic, don't see any problem, it's not hard to drive smoothly at slow speeds.

Re: The sport button really does work!

Never off, even in traffic. I just find it easier to drive with the sport button on.
Tried it off in the snow, but it made no difference, the car was still bloody useless.

Same here, I have it on all the time, you just get used to the throttle sensitivity.

I could never get used to the twirly steering with the sport button off though it's 'orrible.

Have to agree with the majority, Sport on pretty much all the time, occasionally off for parking but that's about it!

Re: The sport button really does work!

I keep mine on all the time on the open road and can't say I find it particularly difficult in traffic.

However, at work the site speed limit is 20mph and it seems to hate sustained low speed and kangaroos about even on constant throttle openings in the first two gears so I tend to turn it off on site.

I tend to agree with the above - I rarely switch the Sport mode on. When engaged, the throttle is more sensitive than in either the Elise or Megablade that I have also owned. It's fun on an open road but in traffic, I prefer gentle smoothness - I must be getting old!

Have you ever put the Sport button on for a bit of laugh when you've been instructing?

You are naughty!

Students who are interested in cars/driving sometimes ask if they can experience 'Sport mode' but I've never switched it on without telling them first. I fear that their clutch control/move away might suffer somewhat!

As much as I love my "Peter the Panda" and would of loved to have learnt in one, I dont think I would of passed. I get way to excited when im driving him. Lets hope Fiat fixes all these silly problems thou, dont ever wanna give him up!!

Ooh talking of Fiat problems - has anyone else got the loud brake noises?? when i stop, i have to pray that a bus is near me so i can blend the noises with the buses brakes!! And the banging noise (sounds like metal banging together) at the back left wheel??

I get this too, it comes and goes. I'm going through a particularly bad patch at the moment, it's starting to drive me nuts.
