I don't know if I am alone in feeling that the standard (vinyl?) gearlever gaiter is cheap and nasty and lets down the otherwise nice cabin of the 100HP?

Does anyone have any advice on the best leather replacement for this? Also, how easy is this to change?

I agree, but I think there has been discussion about this, and changing the knob, and it seems the knob is hard to change, and presumably one has to remove this to replace the gaiter?

Good luck, hope someone more helpful comes along soon with an answer!

My gaiter is holed...I don't know how to remove it?
I saw leather gaiters (boots) on e-bay for £6.99

Maybe get in touch with 'Professor' and ask him how he fitted his custom gaitor with his leather interior... ;)

Professor here.
Unfortunately I did not do the leather gaiter myself. The guys who did the seats did it as a favour. I think they said they'd had to hand stitch it on as the gear knob is impossible to remove without a welding torch and circular saw...

If anyone has removed their gearknob (ooh err), I'd love to know how as I would like to change mine for an alloy one.

I assume you had this custom made in alcantara?

Yeah, had loads of trimming done as part of the cars hi-fi install.

My size 11s would have that grill off in minutes! (n)

It's quite a deceiving picture there's actually bags of room in there, unless you were to enter the passenger door Eric Cantona style!!!

I don't suppose you have any idea how much it cost for the gear gaiter alone? It looks really smart and mine is pretty worn. It'd be great to get a gray alcantara one. If not, where did you get it done?

Cheers,

Jon.

i got mine off of ebay about twelve pounds only problem the knob doesnt come off and i didnt want to ruin it by just pulling the thing so i just cut the seam that was stitched anway and fitted it over the knob and stitched it back up, took about thirty mins.

I've just replaced my original gaiter with a new leather one. Whereas most are black I managed to get Topgaiters on eBay to make on to match the original colour. I think it's a very good match :) photo attached. Like thebeardyweardy I just unstitched it enough to get it over the gear knob then stitched it back up again.

Now just need to sort out the blistering steering wheel
