| | Fitting a aux power/cig lighter in the eco There are a few threads on this but Im looking for people who have fitted one, where they fitted it and what they wired it too. And any pics would be a help too as you really only get one chance at cutting a hole in the dash, lol I've taken the 180w aux socket from a multipla BTW Jim

| | Re: Fitting a aux power/cig lighter in the eco See, this is why I was looking people who have actually done it Jon as yes there is wiring but it's not connected to anything and the bits on the fuse box it should connect too are missing Really need an expert rather than general advice on this one ![]() That and I'm going to drill the glovebox or the bottom of the gearbox housing as where it is that fiat would put it infront of the handbrake is useless to charge a phone or a satnav with a short lead Jim

As far as wiring it in Jim, I personally would remove glove box and tap a live feed direct from battery. That way it's always live and not ignition switched, and assuming there is a grommit in the bulkhead to take wire through, you won't need to drill a hole in the bulkhead. Another advantage of doing it that way is you don't have to fiddle with existing electrics, meaning you won't void any warrentiees in the even of other electrical gremlins occouring | |||

| | Re: Fitting a aux power/cig lighter in the eco yeah, that is way too low for normal use... what where they thinking? That climate control vent just infront of the gearstick sounds promising thou ![]() Wonder how much space is behind it and how hard it is to get access too? Oh and Jon, Fiat really don't want you to play with their cars as there is no gromets thou the bulk head... See I've picked up all the 'downers' from the other threads but no successes yet ![]() Jim

Posts: 3,022 Thanks: 84 Trader Rating: 0 Drives: | It sure does Jon, ![]() The only problem I have with it is that the glue to stick it to anywhere is crap - a couple of days and it's back to rattling in the recess ![]() And before someone mentions it I am not forking out for a tube of tigerseal for a ruddy socket block Trev

Boy was it a pain getting thou all them nooks and crannies routing the wire was only something you could do if you were 6" tall and have no bones, just stuffing! When I'm back on full form I'll upload the pics of my work ![]() Fred
