Front pads question

Hi guys,

I'm about to attempt for the first time a front brake pad change on my 2006 panda dynamic.

Could anybody tell me if there is anything I should look out for, and also, does anybody know if the caliper is held on with a pin or bolts. If its like the old shape panda I had, it was a pin and you just swiveled the caliper upwards to remove the pads. Is the new one the same?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Josh

Re: Front pads question

Not seen the old Panda calipers.
But it sounds the same, just a pin, and caliper swivels upwards.
Really easy job.

Re: Front pads question

On mine it was a bolt, not a pin. Unscrew the lower bolt and the caliper swings up as you describe. There should be a new bolt, pre-painted with locking compound, supplied with the pads to be used on reassembly.

Re: Front pads question

My 06 Dynamic was definately a pin, it needed driving out and was retained by small spring clip.
There must be more than one variation?

Re: Front pads question

The 4x4 and diesels with their ventilated front discs seem to have a different set up from the other models with non-ventilated discs.

Re: Front pads question

Watch that little clip, it's a bugger if it pings off and disappears, from my experience of a Cinquecento.
