Re: Finally got a pick up Date .......

YES, agree with all said about the Twingo RS133 and the article in Evo
agreed with the test drive I had with this car.. Trouble is its only 2/3 door
a bit too wide for my present use. The engine needs to be extended most of the time for any progress, its setup for left hand drive with controls
speedo etc . The fit and feel is not wonderful.. The dealerships are a bit
too French for my likeing.
Having had so many Fiats over the years I know they cut the mustard
have very fond memories with a 1957 Abarth 595 nuvo 500 with suicide doors and a compensation bar holding the rear wheels in a reasonable position and the engine cover held open to aid cooling.. Oh what happy days think petrol was about 3s/6p a gallon and Castrol oil 7 shillings for same amount. I think road tax was 10 pounds might have even been lower.
Mind you I wasnt earning much money then, but still had good times.

So all things being equal will await delivery of the 100Hp and see what I see..
Jake.

Think they were on about the old one, and can see where they're coming from, but I still like the look of both of them.

But unfortunaly there is one thing that lets them all down, and thats the badge in the center of each wheel, the boot and the bonnet

Re: Finally got a pick up Date .......

I'll be the first to admit that I have a massive Fiat bias but we've had Clio's and Megane's in the family, in-between Punto's and Uno's, and never had any issues with them.

The Megane did 110,000 miles in three years and never missed a beat.

I don't consider Fiat any better than Renault in all honesty.

No they can't. Brake bar is an example. Having the servo on the near/side.

Renault make better handling cars too. In all honesty whilst I like the 100hp, I can't see anything else apart from the Abarth 500 which has any appeal in regards to Fiat.

That not what I mean. That is aceptable, and happens in other way (mk2 Pandas none survo had bar on LHD's as master cylinder is on drivers side our side ).

What I mean is wipers, a key example. A safety feature, and they CBA to move the sweep around. All other manufactures do.

Auto gearboxes in French cars (and the BMW Mini), same unit as is LHD models is used in RHD meaning you can't see what you've selected as stick is in way of you seeing what indicator is lit.

It's the basic that they can't be bothered with that gets me. Lazy sods, and Renault especially reacon they have safety as a key priority! My arse they do

Re: Finally got a pick up Date .......

Plenty of RHD cars have the servo on the passenger side - on smaller cars especially there often isn't any room on the driver's side behind the engine, but there is space above the gearbag on t'other side.

Talking about crap design, on newish Clios has anyone else noticed it looks like they are indicating if the sun shines on the front lights?
