I have to say I would be very tempted by an orange Panda, but it would have to be the burn't orange metallic not the solid colour of the mamy.

Re: Best Panda Paint Colour?

Here you go Trev.....

(Remember, you also need the Orange Freak and the Orange Rabbit peeping out of the back windows!)

Definitely the best colour - and no, you never lose it in the car park!

You star ***************

Much better than 'Easypanda Orange' of the Mamy !

Mind you lat sat could of have done with that orange when trying to reverse out of a space in Sainsbury's car park - how the hell is a blue Panda with Italian ribbons from the aerial invisible ?

I have Henry looking out of my back window

and my trademark squirrel looks out of each side !

Re: Best Panda Paint Colour?

Hehe - Henry is very sweet! My 5 year old wants to adopt him already and my 18 month old is jumping up and down, pointing at him and shouting"puppy, puppy, puppy...!!!" But there again, that's just about all she ever says!

I know I should "search", but what is the story behind the squirrels? And Spirito di Hippo? Nosey 5 year old (and Dad!) wondered...

The Freak and Rabbit were acquired simply for being very Orange (and cute!)

Hippo was the name of my late offroader, a 3.0 litre Toyota Surf, which I had for 5 years, loved dearly right upto when the engine decided it had finished playing on the M25/M23 daily at 130,000 + miles.

If you search my gallery you will see pictures of my mud muncher

The Panda has taken over the commuting duties (decided to get a low mileage car capable of years trundling around the great car park, rather than new engine and waiting for the next breakdown as the AA were beginning to know Hippo intimately )

So now you know why the title 'Spirito di Hippo' is on the car, it's also a cheesy play on an old Fiat advert - think Punto

As for the Squirrels, well that came from another forum where the cry 'beware the squirrel' was about, and me in a mad mood decided to be the squirrel.

The Panda is called Squirrile which is short for Squirrel mobile

I must say that the Panda is doing a sterling job is making up for the (not so) small fortune I spelt in fuel over those 5 years (my base office changed just after I got her ). I much prefer 56+mpg over 24 , especially when doing 18,000 miles a year

Re: Best Panda Paint Colour?

We used to think ours was New Orleans Blue and, apart from the grey, it was the best colour. These days we've taken to calling it Target Blue as the local gulls can't seem to manage to crap on any other car so long as ours is about........

It could be a Panda thing - I was on the quay at Appledore for a couple of days recently for their arts festival - there were cars lining both sides of the quay road but within minutes of my arrival my recently washed Electroclash 100HP had received a couple of direct - and voluminous - hits.

Yep it's definitely a Panda thing....

Two direct Pigeon attacks have meant I have had the scraper and copious amounts of cleaning fluids & elbow grease out TWICE in the last week!

Wouldn't touch it!....Mind you, it had been baking in the sun for 8 hours!

Don't worry I used the (plastic) scraper through a cloth soaked in Bug / Tar remover!

Re: Best Panda Paint Colour?

I found that a couple of layers of wax on the car made removing bird poo much easier with just water and a cloth. On the down side, it does seem to make it a far more inviting target in the first place

Re: Best Panda Paint Colour?

I rather like the Mamy in orange, and the blue car next to it is rather good, 100hp, then again the orange one belongs to my daughter and the blue one is mine. The metalliic burnt orange is rather good too, can't quite make out what colour seats are, in the mamy they are a rather tastfull BRIGHT ORANGE with removable purple smocks/bibs with FIAT in green, sounds weird but works rather well.
