My Panda (54 reg, 1.2 dynamic) has been leaking an unknown substance onto the driveway for the past couple of days.
It's not brake fluid, but I think it might be engine oil. Have refilled engine oil today as it was looking pretty empty, as was engine coolant.
The location of the leaks is totally random and not localised in any one area.
Any idea what this could be, and what caused it?
Can't make it til the garage next week either, do you think it will be safe until then?

Thanks for all help xx

for once, you will be asked to ignore your mums advice, and touch and sniff!!!

get underyour car, and have a good look at the pools on the ground under there, wear rubber gloves, if you must:rolleyes: and dab a finger in one, what colour is it, consistency, smell? greasy and slick, goldeny colour? oil most likely, watery pinky, coolant, can you see where it's dripping off the car? see if you can follow it back. (y) where the water pump is, towards the front ofthe engine, sometimes the gasket fails, if it leaks there, you should get a pinkish foamy crust forming around it

that is if you still use the factory pink coolant :)

Make sure that you keep all fluids topped up if you're not going to make it to the garage quickly. Carry some in the car with you too for emergency...

My Panda is on its third water pump in 4 years... The second one didn't even last a year. Here's hoping for third time lucky!

Thanks for the replies! It's kind of brownish in colour but not very oily :-/ might be engine oil. Have topped up oil and engine coolant, as both were pretty low. Hoping that will last me til the garage next week!
xx

ps. No air-con for me, unfortunately!!
